All scheduled flights to Jamaica are now completed in the updated "Incomplete Airlines 1998" file! If you downloaded the file prior to today, please replace or add the following to your aircraft and flightplan files and re-compile after assigning aircraft: American Airlines: 727-200(replace) A300-600R Air Canada: 767-200(replace) A319 A320 BWIA: MD-80(replace) Condor: 767-300(replace) Cayman Airways: 737-200 COPA Airlines: 737-200 Cubana: Fokker 27 YAK-42(replace) LTU: MD-11 Northwest Airlines: A320 Tropical Airlines: Beech 99 TWA: MD-80 US Airways: 737-300 The incomplete airlines file is a bit complicated to update and install of course, so if you are unable to install it, no worries, the airlines inside will be 100% complete eventually. But I figure if there is any crowd that can take advantage of these files to fill up their airport, it is some of the members here! Hopefully it will not be too long until packages become AIG One Click Installer(OCI) compatible, especially seeing as the majority of users here have given me permission to use their files. Great community, getting it all done together!

Now speaking of Colombia, we also need Retro Colombian carriers like Avianca, ACES, SAM, Satena, AeroRepublica, AIRES, West Caribbean and Intercontinental to be in the 1998 project as well.

This just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for all of those involved making it possible, hopefully the OCI compatibility and permissions will be approved soon to bring an even larger group of people into Retro Simming!

Even when they are, it'll be a lot of work to figure out sourcing all the models and paints, so I wouldn't expect a significant number of the packages to be available before the end of 2020, most likely. Especially since the first half of the year I am trying to finish a dozen or so large carriers lol. But OCI compatible airlines should start popping up in the coming months.

I have done a large update to the Incomplete Airlines 1998 file to fill in the missing airlines in the covered geographical regions as listed in the original post. Over 10 airlines were removed since the last update, so I recommend updating as so many airlines have been done by myself, eth72s, and others in the last few months. You may download the Incomplete Airlines 1998 Flightplans Here .

Things to come. Now that most of the global airlines, outside the US, are finished or well in progress, backdated ADEX flies, scenery, and more repaints will be coming. The Philippines was full of second hand YS-11s in 1998, and Manila had several operators flying them in the colors of the former Japanese operators. Along with MD-80s in U-Land colors flying for Air Philippines, there were many rare hybrids to be seen and MNL is a great place to fly into or watch traffic in 1998. Philippine Airlines was all but grounded at the time so the majority of the fleet is usually on the ground in MNL at once. I am almost done with an ADEX and replacement textures for signage including turning the Lufthansa Tecknik hangar back into the Philippine Airlines hangar. This is for the Pac Sim scenery. AIG has no plans to let anyone not making modern traffic use their installer right now, so we'll develop our own with hopes that one day all high quality AI traffic can be installed seamlessly and users can switch between eras if they please quickly and easily. Soon you guys will be able to fly between several realistic airports within a few hours from Kai Tak, and be able to re-create flights with most major airlines as they usually had tag on routes between Asian cities. The missing Filipino airlines, including the non-scheduled ones who often flew DC-3s and vintage props, are all in progress. Almost the entire civilian Filipino aviation inventory was based in MNL! And the taxi from the domestic terminal to the runway takes you winding through the general aviation hangars. Excited to create it all.

It would appear that an installer is a ways out, so I made a video teaching how to install the project flightplans. Uploads to Facebook\Avsim will resume now that we know there is no installer:

I am in the process of updating airlines re-ordering the aircraft to optimize AI parking (as I've recently learned needs to be done from largest to smallest or else an A320 might steal the last gate a 747 would use for example and thus the 747 wouldn't be displayed) and in some cases adding new non-scheduled charters or ferry flights as well. I have also corrected Cathay Pacific and Air Hong Kong to remove liveries and types that were not correct for 1998. Search for "v2" to find the updated airlines, though v3s may be possible for an airline or two by now. I have also went back and updated the repaint links to many airlines since the original posting, so it may be worth looking around the thread from time to time at the airlines you wish to complete. I have also found a better process for the incomplete 1998 airlines for which I have completed all flights to the regions listed in the 1st post in this thread. Download the ones you wish to see individually(there is a master airports.txt file in the folder) and then I will update them over time as new regions are added prior to the airline being 100% complete. This way you can recreate thousands of real 1998\99 flights between 2 points in the world and see all the traffic for the most part. You may download those airlines flightplans here: drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1Ot0KzDaUBVeoaI8RLlOw-1hsM5mDqaxBThere is now a list in the 1st post of this thread with regions of the world that are in progress and a list of airlines that are in progress nearing completion by various people involved with the project is now in the flightplans page original post. Some of them are huge, like most German and Canadian airlines. The following regions will be completed at some time in the next few months regardless of how many 100% complete airlines are released, so you can enjoy many more routes\flights with this 98\99 traffic and scenery: Alaska Aruba Austria Bahrain Beijing Belgium Bermuda Bulgaria California Canada Costa Rica Croatia Egypt Fiji France French Antilles Frankfurt Main (FRA\EDDF) Guatemala Honduras Iraq Italy Jordan Lebanon London Area Airports Madagascar Malta Minnesota\The Dakotas Netherlands Nicaragua Oman Panama Pacific Northwest USA Portugal Puerto Rico Qatar Romania South Africa Syria Tunisia United Arab Emirates I am also working on a list of scheduled 1998\99 5th freedom and tech stop flight schedules so users can easily re-create real flights from 15 minutes in length up to just a few hours in long range aircraft or with interesting airlines instead of having to stick to the usual parts of the world or 8+ hour long haul flights to operate them. It will also allow for interesting long haul routes for those who want them. Examples are stuff like Air Lanka A340-300s from NRT-FUK, Aeroflot A310s from MIA-MEX, Hawaiian Air DC-10s from LAX-LAS, British Airways 757 from JFK-YYZ and 747-400s from PHX-SAN, Citybird 767-300\MD-11 from LAS-OAK and United and Northwest 747s between various points around the Pacific Rim. These routes have since become rare in most parts of the world with giant alliances, and are fun to fly. The following airlines are also expected to be released in the next few months, though occasionally non-scheduled, cargo, and tiny airlines or airlines that have paints completed: Frontier Airlines 1998 - Completed and uploaded in Google Drive, will be formally released when fleet repaints are complete SAS + Commuters 1998 - Final stages Hemus Air 1998 - Working on charters Istanbul Airlines 1998 - Working on charters Lufthansa Regionals 1998 - Final stages Hapag Lloyd 1998 - Final stages Aero Lloyd - Final Stages Eurowings -Final Stages Condor 1998 - Final Stages Air Canada + Commuters - Final Stages Canadian Airlines + Commuters - Final Stages Air Transat - Final Stages Royal Aviation - Final Stages Gulf Air - Final Stages Braathens SAFE - Nearing completion Iberia 1998 - Nearing completion Spanair 1998 - Nearing completion Brazilian Air Force 1998 - Nearing completion Delta Air Lines 1998 (mainline only) - Nearing completion Southwest Airlines 1998 - Nearing completion If you don't see it here, it probably won't be completed by next summer as things stand now. If anyone is interested in helping out, that is always welcome and greatly encouraged! If you want to do an airline or region, just reach out and ask and I'll send you what you need. I have printed schedules for many 1998\99 Airlines including United, Alaska Airlines, Mexicana, American Airlines, and a few others if anyone is interested in those.
