This is the 1998 project not the 1980s project. 1980s paints are an irrelevant bonus for our 1998 project. We also have no plans to include any models.
I'm sorry, but our project will not include anything that you are suggesting and is not up for negotiation and no requests will be taken. I'd also recommend that you please do not harass Brian about his 1983 project either, just let him paint what he feels like. It is a hobby, so take it or leave it, I'm afraid. Feel free to paint youself or finish your 80s project, but we will not be painting anything outside of the 1996-99 timeframe.
I'm with you 100%. All your and Brian's work, effort and generous sharing are much admired and appreciated. As you said, it's a hobby and the tools are available for all. We can wish for an "ideal world" where all of our needs would be met by magic (or maybe the work of others) but reality dictates that our choices are limited by what's being freely offered and by what we can contribute ourselves. Harassment only leads to valuable contributors leaving the hobby and only makes our world grayer and duller.
Oh, then let me ask why people like A or B provided their models for others, when on the other hand everyone is responsible for the wishes they have?
Maybe, one should start to think that not everyone can make a perfect repaint or model, no matter how hard they try or that things they don't want to openly talk about are in the way, while yet they find some sort of relief and relaxation in the hobby.
To say it clearly, 1989 won't continue for reasons stated, but I'd like to use the available flightplans from the forums to fill up my sim. Shall I or others forget about it, because some think a day has 36+ hours, although time is limited but the person would like to use limited time for pleasure in the sim? I'm looking for the base models at least and I think that with the approval by DWAI it should not be too much to at least share them.
We should stop this egoism and be a community that helps.
Off Topic closed - back to the initial subject.
I am really not sure what about our project is the perfect platform to share the DWAI models on, but again, we have no interest in doing that. If you do, that's fine. Please do that. But remember that nobody here has an obligation to do or share anything, just be grateful for what people do contribute and don't try to push people into work they don't want to do, please.
If you wish to share models without consent, I honestly am not the kind of person to care, but I don't want to get in the politics of doing it myself. I'm sorry if that offends you. Please feel free to share any models you wish, I have no problem with that.

Hey guys, now that many airlines have been completed and painters like ranmori, mikeblaze, and others have been hard at work, I will start uploading complete airlines to Avsim. All complete airlines will either include the required textures or have links to them if I do not have permission to share. Continue to check the Flightplans thread for new flightplans, but I will start posting complete airlines here as they are uploaded to Avsim. The original post on the first page has been updated to reflect what is available now and the most recent information.
First up completed today is PLUNA! Uploaded to Avsim tonight as "Pluna_1998.zip" with the FAIB 737-200 fleet by Raphael Rodriguez.
Big release to Avsim, with fantastic original paints by ranmori !
asiana_1998.zip, includes textures for the FAIB A321, 737-400, 737-500, 767-300, and 747-400. As a bonus, the 1989-1997 livery(slight modifications) was included for the 737-400, 747-400, and 737-500(the livery was still active in 1998 on the 737-500, however).
mandarin_airlines_1998.zip, includes textures for the FAIB 747-400, 747SP, and FSPX MD-11. Textures required to complete China Airlines 1998.
china_airlines_1998.zip, includes textures for the FAIB 737-400, 747-200, 747-400, FSPX MD-11, TFS A300-600R and A300B4. As a bonus, the old colors for the 747-400, A300B4, and A300-600R are included(which were discontinued in 1997) along with the FAIB 737-800 (introduced in 1999).
eva_air_1998.zip, includes textures for the AIA MD-90, FSPX MD-11, FAIB 767-200, 767-300, and 747-400.
korean_air_1998.zip,includes textures for the AIA MD-80, Fokker 100, FAIB 747-200, 747-300, 747-400, 747SP, FSPX MD-11, 777-200, A330-300, TFS A300B4, and A300-600R. Also includes the AIA 727-200 as a bonus which was retired in 1996 but may optionally be used with these plans.
Avsim has had a major technical problem and all files uploaded on this page within the last week are corrupted and need to be re-packaged and re-downloaded. This will take many hours over several days to resolve. Uploading new airlines to Avsim will be paused, and I will work to get the old airlines re-uploaded as I have time to. Every upload from Vietnam Airlines on wards is corrupted.
In the meantime, I will soon upload a folder containing all the original textures that were uploaded to Avsim for use with this project. This folder will remain active until all the files are up on Avsim so that all of you following our project may have them. The flightplans may all be found in the link to Google Drive in each post on this Facebook page and are not corrupted.
There is a lot of confusion with Avsim right now. I e-mailed someone and was told that if I re-upload VASP, the files would simply go to "VASP_1998.zip" which is uploaded to the library but corrupt and not able to be downloaded. Instead, they added it to the library as "vasp_1998_377478.zip" and kept the corrupt file! I get they have a lot going on right now, so if you want VASP, use that file name, and I have requested all my corrupt files be totally removed from Avsim so I can just start over. Sorry for the mess, but of course this happens right when I start mass-uploading. Lol.
chasensfo: Yes the regionals will be included, and yes the whole 1999 fleet is done (they joined Star Alliance in 1999 and that fleet has the logo lol)

theflyingmobian: I think at this point the Qantas VH-OJC Formula 1 747 is the only remaining 747 yet to be painted in AI, but I don't think it has plans yet as that was active in 2000 to 2002.

jetstar: G-AWNA was painted up in incorrect BOAC colours when it was WFU, It was broken up in those colours in 1999. If you look closely, you can see the overpainted white where the BA titles were, and the tail is showing the speed stripe underneath the.. see part2
Jul 13, 2021 7:41:02 GMT -5
jetstar: Thin paint on the tail. They never did anything with the lower blue though. It was just homage to BOAC's original 747-136 when it was retired. Its a pity is was not preserved. Then again, BA would not pay to upkeep the 707 at Cosford, which was scrapped.

jetstar: Should have said Landor, Doh!
