A few interesting variations in this pack. Includes both Advanced and non-Advanced versions of the 727. As far as I can find, no non-Advanced 727s were ever in the early Friendship liveries, or the late Battleship schemes. Speaking of the battleships, United also tested a lighter "Ghost Grey" paint on a few 727's in 1999 after pilots of both UA and other airlines complained that UA airplanes in the battleship scheme were sometimes hard to see, especially when airborne. The scheme was never adopted on any other aircraft and was gone by 2000.

Just one quick question and I hope it's okay:
Did the United 727 not also carry the early Saul Bass livery with the small font on the fuselage or am I completely mistaken? Kind regards.

The United 727's and other stuff I have previewed will come shortly... In the mean time, a whole load of Braniff 727-100's. 200's and Ultra schemes to follow. Uploading later this evening In 1965, Alexander Girard designed the above schemes and branding for Braniff International. Using his own custom Girard Sky Slant font, and a series of pastel colors, the "End of the Plain Plane" campaign was launched with equally colorful interiors and uniforms for flight attendants. A lavender version was also envisioned, but this scheme only ever made it to one 720 and was scrapped for reasons unknown. Harper & George designed a minor rebranding for Braniff in 1967, during which several schemes from the original Girard lineup were revamped with new shades and several new colors were introduced. Three of these schemes, the two darker greens and the yellow, came out of the merger with Panagra in 1967 and were designed to pay tribute to the airline. The darker green was eliminated fairly shortly into its life, but the lighter green survived on. Braniff sought a slightly more modern brand image by the early 1970's, and Harper & George came to their aid again with the two-tone Flying Colors campaign in 1971. Most of Braniff's airplanes were converted into this scheme pretty quickly to keep Braniff's image up to date and modern, and this particular scheme has garnered a legacy as *the* paint scheme of the 1970's in the eyes of many. This scheme would survive as the modern image of Braniff until 1978, when Harper & George would yet again rebrand Braniff into their late Ultra color schemes.

In 1978, after a total redesign of the interiors and flight attendant uniforms at Braniff, Harper and George teamed up with Cars and Concepts to introduce the Ultra schemes, based heavily on racing car patterns and colors of the time, with the Blue scheme seen below even being named "Corvette Blue". I have attempted to capture the highly reflective paint used on the jets at the time. As far as I am aware, these are the only three 727-100's that ever made it to the Ultra scheme.
