90s Charter/Cargo/Start-up Carriers

Many of us have been waiting forever for Mandarin Airlines, and since no timestables have surfaced and no one else has taken a stab at it, I made representative plans based on what data I could to get the new paints flying. I used what data I could to try and set up the departure and arrival times to be at least semi-accurate, HNL SFO and YVR should be pretty close.

The 1995 fleet consists of 4 MD-11s, 3 747SPs, and a lone 744. The 744 was only used on TPE-HKG/YVR, the MD-11 did AMS/FRA/ZRH, the 747SP did FCO/SYD/HNL, SFO gets a mix of MD-11s and 747SPs, and HKG gets the whole fleet, with an MD-11 overnighting most nights. There is a Europe departure bank from TPE around 0720 and an arrival bank around 0600-0630, and a US/Canada/Australia departure bank around 2200-2300. FAIB 747SP and FSPX MD-11 paints are out there, 744 needs to be done and for now I'm just using the 747SP personally. Enjoy!

Sure, when I get a chance I will give you a run down. It is a buggy program, so frustrating trial and error are often the only way to learn, which sometimes means losing some hard work you've put in, unfortunately.

This is not my file, but I looked into doing representative plans for the EG&G/JANET Area 51 files and came across "janet.zip" on Avsim. These plans and the fleet mirror the 1995 operation exactly, so I'd recommend it for anyone here who wants to spice up 1990s LAS.

On a side note, I know of the "troubles" with UTT in general, but quality wise, do you guys prefer the UTT MD-11 or the FSPX in FSX/P3D? I am wondering if it is worth the time to replace UTT MD-11s with ranmori's FSPX ones for carriers already installed.

2 goodies for you guys today, I finished and uploaded Orca Bay Aviation 1995 and Capitol Air 1994 to avsim.

Orca Bay Aviation was the single-airplane sports charter operator for 2 Vancouver sports teams; the NBA Vancouver Grizzlies and NHL Canucks. This was a historic year for the Grizzilies, both in that the team was founded in 1995 and also that the team set a then NBA-record of losing 23 straight games and went 15-67 on the season! Yikes! The airline operated until 2000 and then the plane was acquired by the Boeing museum in PAE where the nose section sits in Eastern colors to this day, maybe some of you have seen it. The plans are based off a week with lots of travel in the Grizzlies schedule, visiting airports like BFI, LAX, and other West Coast/Southwest cities with NBA teams. I could not find the callsign, but "ORCA" is available with editvoicepack so I used that.



And of course, Capitol Air ran a St. Paul, Minneasota(STP located near MSP) to MKE/MDW shuttle for about 1 year before being acquired by Air LA, randomly to say the least. If you use my Air LA plans and do not want duplicate flights, be sure to delete the 2 ex-Captiol aircraft. These 2 metros were operated by Empire Airlines and used the "EMPIRE" callsign.

Just some updates, I have finished the plans for the following carriers and will upload/post them once the repaints are complete. But I need some help. Here are the plans and what paints are needed, any help is appreciated if you guys know what paints are done:

737-200 doesn't have a repaint, I was thinking of doing it but the FAIB paintkit is all screwy and made the paint look extremely strange so I gave up, and just a note, the ones I found around that time period had it with a gravel kit

Ansett NZ has no repaints I'm aware of, why, I'm not entirely sure

Regarding Ansett New Zealand: the old colors are the stars and rainbow? If yes, might it perhaps be an option to include Ansett Australia in that livery? As far as I know, they're not available and it'd be awesome to have them for mid 1980s to mid 1990s traffic as well.

There's not much needed for Ansett's old livery, Nick Prestwich already had the 767-200, 737-200, and 727-200 done in the 80s livery on flightsim

IATA codes for commuter flights on behalf of Air Afrique would be:

DS = Air Senegal
MR = Air Mauritanie
YZ = TAG Transports Aereos de Guinee-Bissau

according to rzjets they used exactly the type of aircraft in 1996.

Now that you mentioned it, true. He did mention in correspondences that he wanted to remake them, due to him not being satisfied with them. Then he disapeared from the surface. Perhaps a chance to use the AIM and FAIB models.

Sad how so talented artists disappeared over the time.

Update for you guys, I will be able to compile/share the plans for Ansett New Zealand, Azerbaijan Airlines, Air Afrique and also Empire Airlines so you can plug in whatever models you'd like as they are all missing some paints. I started Air New Zealand 1995...but this 1995 schedule on airline-memorabilia only had the flights to/from AKL. And as you can see from this route map, that does not even cover a fraction of Air New Zealand's flying:



There IS a 1996 Air New Zealand timestable on Ebay for about $6USD + shipping, if any of you want these plans bad enough to purchase it and scan/take photos of the timestable, I will finish these plans. Otherwise, they are on hold until the rest of the 1995 timetable surfaces online.

Since I did Air Afrique, I decided to do the 1995 Ivory Coast government fleet plans as well, which consisted of 1 Fokker 100 and 2 Gulfstreams. Those will be released soon, not sure if the paints are out there.

I say go for it! It would be great to have those for 1989, period. And of course, they can stand in with some modifications to represent the mid-90s until plans like 1995 ANZ are finished.

Update;

Now that my focus is on the 1998 AI project, I don't anticipate spending much time on these projects for a while. I have partial Ansett and Air New Zealand flightplans completed for 1994(based off the limited parts of the schedule I could see) if anyone wants to complete that. Feel free to attempt any of these missing paints yourself as well, of course and let me know if you do so I can share them here for others to find. Other than that, as some of these carriers were operating in 1998 in the same livery, and thus the repaints for these plans will eventually be completed in the course of the project.

ranmori has completed a few paints that can be used for my plans in this thread(will share download links when available):

Mandarin 1998 fleet:
Note the paints are on FSX-native models(FSPX,FAIB). VHHX and RTCP see the fleet and bulk of the traffic, 744 only used to HKG and YVR.
