Hi All.
I’m getting through the 62 texture packs. Should finish them tomorrow, and then its a case of testing them and getting them ready for uploading.
Its quite funny how each one takes longer, and longer to do as your brain slowly switches off!
Apart from bug fixing, the 707 construction is now finished. I ended up modding the top wing as well so that it matches the bottom,.. wait and see!
Wing blanks made, cargo door and rear service door made and well into relaying out the textures.
Won't be long now before she's ready for a test flight, after texturing and animating.
Compared to the DC-8, this one will use more polys, due to the engines and wing overhaul. I'll have to measure her in ACM once she's compiled again.
The DC-8-62/3 engine is a fairly simple tube compared to the complex shape of the 707's.
I finally have updated my old PSP9 to PSPX5.
I did try 10 and 11 when they first came out, but Corel had changed too much, that it was hard to use.
X5 is like using the old PSP with the same key strokes and menus where you would expect them to be.
I found it much easier than using 9, as now each texture has its own tab. No more hunting for everything in the same window, and it only cost USD 49.99 (+ tax). Much cheaper than buying it in the UK!!
I was surprised how easy it was to just jump in and start using it. Like I said they had gone back to the traditional PSP way of doing things. Thanks Corel.
I'll preview a few more 62 texture sets once they have been tested.
Then onto the 62F textures.
I have the shorter wing ready for the 61/71, so the 71 will also be in the hanger before long.
Keep watching this space.
Paul
