Paul, I just downloaded and installed CoreTuner2.This looks quite promising thank you.Do you manually set up the FS9.EXE or use the automatic "Boost" function? Also do you do anything with the other programs affecting FS9 like ASE? Thanks Stan Hi Stan. I manually set it to the highest priority. You need to turn everything off that can have an effect on flight sims performance. You can look in windows task manager at CPU and RAM usage and decide if you want to turn anything off. Its all down to your system and how much resource is being stolen from FS. Basically, you need a "clean" a system as you can get, and also defragging the RAM before a session also helps. Paul

Hi Paul. Have seen many photos of the Douglas DC-8. I Record here in the forum. I hope to see the end of the this DC-8-10 to 70's. After you make the Caravelle Plane Hi David. The Caravelle will probably come a lot later. I have my hands full with the DC-8 and 707 at the moment. Too many projects on the go means that no project makes much headway, and frustration leads to burn out and no work on any project!. Paul

Paul, my frame rates didn't double but they improved quite a bit and the sim seems smoother with core tuner. I did KHOU to KIAH with ASE (tons of towering cumulus) in the DF 727 and frames stayed above 24 the whole way on my OC'd Q9550

Mine went up as well. There are still slower areas for me for some reason. FlyTampa's KMIA is still slow for me. I'm using the older scenery and one would think that it'd be easier on the machine than the newer ones like TropicalSim's or LatinVFR's. (Then again, I have lots of AI cargo a/c there that are not necessarily AI models.)

It's very system specific, but the improvement is well worth it. I have 6 cores, so probably the reason I see more of an increase. Chris, I use the old Flytampa KMIA as well, and get good frames, but it is one of my most congested airports and full of cargo 707's and DC-8's for some reason! Slowest place is normally around the terminals that are full. I don't fly anymore, just AI spot, and yes, it is much smoother especially using Crtl+W. Now all we need is a proper AI ATC engine!! Paul

Heard that... I flew elsewhere and noticed how smooth everything was working. FlyTampa's KSEA for me was a breeze.

Will this work with a dual Core?

Will this work with a dual Core? Hi Jason. Probably not much improvement, but the software will work as a demo for a while, so it won't hurt to try it, as you won't part with any cash. It's really aimed at 4 cores or more, but as I said, you won't loose anything if it does not help. Paul

Hi All.
About 75% though processing the 62 textures, another two nights should have them completed, and then time to test and package them up. Next up, the 62F textures.
707 now standing on gear that will compress once animated. Fuselage 1 & 2 now has the forward entry door removed for the freighter version. Just the cargo door, rear service door and wing blanks to make, and then layout the new texture set, texture the bird, animate and then start looking for bugs in the sim.
By that time, the DC-8-70's should be on the way.
Paul

Great news! I whipped up a Trans Caribbean Airways flightplan that is itching for aircraft.

Great news! I whipped up a Trans Caribbean Airways flightplan that is itching for aircraft. Sound like a plan! The 50 is still a little way off, but it will get here. I still can remember the 8's when they did charters to Gatwick in the late 60's early 70's. Then again they were probably operating for ONA! Paul
