hello, i’m making the jump from FSX to MSFS and so i have no experience with how the ai works or how to really do anything with msfs. i’m a total noob to this program. i was very familiar with adjusting configs and files etc. with fsx. i used to use WOAI for fsx and i was very pleased. it gave me all of the airlines i enjoyed to see around and it was just the way i liked it. now as time moves on WOAI seems to be no more and the process of adding ai traffic seems to be a little more difficult. i am simply wondering what program i can use in msfs which will give me a nice variety of airlines and models out of the box and allows me to add custom aircraft and routes. airlines specifically like airtran and much of the old delta fleet seem to omitted from a lot of the programs. id do anything to have airtrans fleet in atlanta next to the old delta md-88s, 777s, 747s, etc. since many of these new programs came out post covid, they only needed to copy the latest data of airline traffic and fleets which i am not a fan of. i’d love to take back my sim to 2010/2014. i know retro ai is working on doing much of the same thing i’ve described but the timeline is a little too early for my liking considering the scenery like airports and cities wouldn’t match so well and there is a lack of classic aircraft available at this point. if anyone can help me and point me in the right direction i’d really appreciate it, with specific instructions or program recommendations, links to download, anything really.

MFS has a free AI project called FSLTL. Install that and see how the files are organized, and you should also get a ton of models. I'm unaware of how many models it provides, but it should be pretty similar to FSX. It should use DDS textures. The models provided are custom made I'm pretty sure. So you may need to find paints yourself. The other option is to check out this thread retroai.proboards.com/thread/4588/started-retro-ai-p3dv4-ms2020. You'd need to convert the models for MFS, and I'm currently unsure of how to do. FSLTL: Can be found in the FlybyWire installer here: flybywiresim.com/

I'm thinking of buying MSFS to trial it out (not to replace my P3D - I love it too much!) Does any BGL Traffic (or equivalent) work in MSFS now? or not at all?
or - is all traffic injected in a different method?

I've finally managed to get the AI to work in MSFS 2024. I've put a few links up on my site, with some demonstrations for the FAIB Boeing's and the Boeing 767 in particular, as an example. I'm hoping to get AI Aardvark to work also in the next week or so. www.retroairline.com
