Hi Jestar, Here is your Aero America 707-123B N7521A. Nice shot. Especially with the great view in the background.
Thanks Mr HS121. I can still remember beiung the all those years ago. I used to spend my summer holidays plane spotting at LHR as it made a change from my local of Gatwick . One of those Trident 3's, even in 1979 was in BEA colours with just BA titles. It probably never was repainted. Those two 125's both lived outside the BA hanger, and both were srs 1's. Trying to get the grey matter to remember which ones they were. I think the dark tailed one was G-AWUF, and the other G-ASSI, but might be wrong. What you don't get is the smell and noise. All that burnt Jet A and screaming non hush kitted low bypass turbofans Where's my Tardis?

Some for Mr HS121 with some bits and bobs in the background. This time all from standard prints. Attachment Deleted747-368 HZ-AIM of Saudia at Heathrow, date unknown. I would need to dig out my log to find out, but would guess at around 1988. It was start of Wimbledon, and bizz jets movements were sky high. If you look in the background you will see another Grumman that is a bit older and more sedate. Never see a scene like that again at LHR. Attachment DeletedDC-9-82 I-DAWI of Alitalia at LHR at the same time. Terminal 4 in full swing, and an EMS Electra, N669F taxing out, along with an Air Malta 727-200 which I believe was N502AV leaving terminal 4. Looks like we had summers back then due to the dead grass. Attachment DeletedA bit earlier time, possibly 87. TU-134A-3 HA-LBN of Malev at LHR. Long before the pigjets took over.

Last for today for a bit further afield. Attachment DeletedThe year was 1989, the place.... inside an Austrian DC-9-80! AN-12 LZ-BAF of Balkan Cargo with some AN-2's and a derelict IL-18 in the background. Attachment DeletedSame time, same place and a bit more of the super 80's wing in view. TU-134A LZ-TUS of Balkan plus friends. Attachment DeletedLast for today. Even further afield with the lens shoved through the chain link fence on top of the spectators. 3 x L1011-193P of All Nippon. JA8509, JA8521 & JA8522 AT Narita April 1991. Three of the four international TriStars in one shot. The other was JA8508. The KAL tail just visible on the left was ex LGW regular HL-7468.

Sorry to crash your party Jetstar, but if you'd allow me just one post. I have painted a lot of FSX models in the past and , recently I have taken up a new hobby; colourizing old B&W photos of classic airliners. Eventually, I plan to publish a book, once I have enough photos.
So, here are a few photos of aircraft that are brought to life with a little colour: Western Air Lines CV-240 1952
Trans Canada Airlines DC-8-43 c1964
Iraqi Vickers Viscount circa mid 1960s
That's it no more posts from me. Back to you

The 240 I would need to check, but my database is not installed right now. YI-ACM did come home during the late 70's, but only lasted about a year before it was written off. Looks like hard work colourizing the old photos. Also, unlike today, ramp shots!! You would be shot now At least I have my very out of date AI in FS2004 to take me back. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work, and good luck with your project! Paul

More grotty pics from the past. Quality is not so hot as they were taken though glass, so reflections spoil them, but they are the only pics I have of some of these subjects. The year was 1988, the place...................... you tell me If you've been there you'd know. I was there early for my return flight so I could do some spotting. My stead turned out to be N6811, 727-223 of American to DFW. From DFW to LGW it was N164AA DC-10-30 which also brought me out. N109AA DC-10-10 brought me to this location from DFW. Again, these pictures are not the best due to have been taken through the thick glass windows, which also have reflections from other windows and the people in the terminal on them. But they are memories! Attachment DeletedDC-10-10 N118AA of American. Attachment Deleted146-200 N141AC of American. Attachment Deleted737-3A4 of American.

Hi All.
Pics will be returning soon. I'm working on getting my old imageshack account up and running again. If I continue to post pictures to the site, I'll fill up the limited storage very quickly.
