727-2L5 5A-DIH of Libyan Arab Airlines London Heathrow August 1980.
DC-10-30 EC-CLB of Iberia, London Heathrow July 1979. Not unusual to see IB 10's at LHR, but in 1979 it was rare. This replaced the lunchtime DC-8-63 flight as DC-10's were banned from flying to the US at this time after the AA DC-10 disaster.
Hopefully they expand to the bigger picture as the attachment is one file this time, but won't know until I post it.
DC-9-51 HB-ISS of Swissair, London Heathrow August 1980.
DC-8-30 N905CL ex Capital operating a Saudia charter flight, London Heathrow July 1979.
720-051B OY-APU of Maersk Air at London Heathrow August 1980 operating a Tunis Air flight. Caught the airport by surprise, as they were expecting a 727-200. Sat there for about 20 minutes as the 720's wing is to big for the stand area. Eventually it went of the last stand on the right where the IB DC-8-63's normally park.
707-321B TC-JBU of THY, London Heathrow July 1979. Made a nice change to a 727-200.
727-108C TF-FIE of Icelandair at London Heathrow July 1979.
DC-10-30 ZK-NZR of Air New Zealand. The first DC-10s that BA used, operating an interchange to LAX. Replaced a few years later with there own 747-236B's. Heathrow August 1979. I was 19 years and 6 months old then with a full head of hair, and not a grey (or white one) in sight! Please take me back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
