Hi Guys. Found some old 10x8's that I had printed from slides back in '82. They have aged quite badly, but still viewable. I have scanned one in so you can have a nostalgia trip. 737-130 of Lufthansa at London Heathrow August 1980. Probably the one that has fared best, it's 38 years old now, older than the plane was Paul

Of course! Charismatic photos like that always remind of the gone past, when my father used to take me to the airport on weekends to watch airplanes.

OK, I'll scan some more tomorrow. Quality will vary as the colours have faded and washed out a lot. I guess its to be expected after that amount of time.
Best regards.

Some more oldies. This time I did run them with 15% fade correction which helps with the colour a lot. Attachment Deleted707-123B N7521A of Aero America at London Heathrow July 1979 operating for Air Malta. Attachment Deleted727-2L5 5A-DIH of Libyan Arab Airlines London Heathrow August 1980. Attachment DeletedDC-10-30 EC-CLB of Iberia, London Heathrow July 1979. Not unusual to see IB 10's at LHR, but in 1979 it was rare. This replaced the lunchtime DC-8-63 flight as DC-10's were banned from flying to the US at this time after the AA DC-10 disaster. Hopefully they expand to the bigger picture as the attachment is one file this time, but won't know until I post it. OK, here goes

Yep, works just fine. Some more. Attachment DeletedDC-9-51 HB-ISS of Swissair, London Heathrow August 1980. Attachment DeletedDC-8-30 N905CL ex Capital operating a Saudia charter flight, London Heathrow July 1979. Attachment Deleted720-051B OY-APU of Maersk Air at London Heathrow August 1980 operating a Tunis Air flight. Caught the airport by surprise, as they were expecting a 727-200. Sat there for about 20 minutes as the 720's wing is to big for the stand area. Eventually it went of the last stand on the right where the IB DC-8-63's normally park. More to follow later Paul

Looking good, photoshop is out of my league Considering how old the prints are, they are not to bad. Probably older than some of the people who use the site Paul

Cool stuff! Thank you for sharing these rare shots. Crazy to think how long the AKL-LAX-LHR route was along and now it is going away. The airfare was often under $600USD roundtrip after taxes from LAX-LHR-LAX, but I missed my chance.
