Happy new year everybody.... personally, I want a refund on 2020.....
Anyways, I am in the middle of a computer upgrade/swap. I custom-spec'ed a brand-new Alienware R11 with the most obscenely fast performance I could get, and each of my three sims has its own 2TB SSD now. Take that, P3Dv4/5 at maximum performance! This is my third Alienware in 11 years, and I love them, with a little care and feeding, they age very gracefully in the sim world. Finally, my Aerosoft A32x/A333 fly smoothly now, none of that out-of-control crap if the FPS drops below 20.
I left off of painting in the middle of the version-2 of the AIG 757 NWA work, that's where I will pick back up by the end of the month. Re-installing 5 or 6 TB of sims and scenery/aircraft does take a little time, lol.

And it can’t take too long when you’ve got glorious SSDs to have fun with. JF’s A300 is entering the final stages of development and I can’t wait to spend tons of time figuring out that plane.

For the truly geeky out there, the specs are Pentium i9/3.7-5.2Ghz processor, GeForce RTX3090 24GB VRAM, and 64GB RAM, plus 4x 2TB SSD drives, I think it will run P3Dv4, lol..... for what I paid, it should give me a happy ending as well.....

That 64GB of RAM should allow stable frames at even the busiest airports.

Not to completely spin off-topic on my own repainting thread (like I occasionally chastise others, lol)....
My benchmark for max performance is either EDDF right in the heart of European airspace, or KJFK/KEWR with DD's NYC City scenery. EDDF has close to 200 AI aircraft in the current scene airborne or parked, and NYC, well need I say more?
Now that I have the Aerosoft aircraft settled down where I can enjoy flying them, I might be doing some retro painting for various A32x/A333 this year. I also have the Black Box A33x/A34x, which contrary to all the whiners who expect flightsim perfection in cheaper aircraft, do just fine in P4. I like that BB did all of the A33x variants to include freighters and the MRTT, so there might be some retro painting for these as well.
Still installing scenery back into the new build, so no painting for awhile, perhaps the rest of this month, but I will definitely be back.

So, a little silence.... I moved into a new computer at the end of last year, and then moved completely into P3Dv5, so that took awhile. Here is something to fill in a lot of little holes here and there..... This is pure 90s, I will consider the 2000s fleet at a later date. :{)

Oh, yeah, BTW the Blackbox A33x aircraft work just fine in P5 as well..... as do the Caranedo, CS, AS, and PMDG products. I actually have a first Blackbox paint in the works, AAR early scheme A333... I am slowly moving my retro world into P3Dv4 now. And, PMDG released the 777-200ER models (all three), I can only hope they will do the 773PW/RR at some point this year. Would also be nice to see the CS 763-II get the long-suffering GE models (and hopefully the RR). For those of you who talked me into the CS 757, excellent call.....
And, last for slightly off-topic stuff for now, for the record, I am not planning any work for MSFS (2020) for the foreseeable future, the mod world needs to catch up with regard to both UI and AI aircraft availability for this sim, although the scenery pickings are becoming both numerous and very well-done..... No fun to go from an FSX/P3D full-ticket environment to just a bunch of A320Neos and 787-10s moving around in AI.
Back on topic, for FAIB, I have two more 70s-90s 747 projects in the works, screenshots within the week.

A little bit of explanation. I had tried to contact Ranmori to ask permission to use his ANA stripe for an expanded ANA paint run. I then found his post on his website, and subsequently made these from scratch. These don't 100% match his paints (I planned it that way), but they are color-matched and will look just fine if mixed with any Ranmori ANA 747s. I play by the rules and don't want anybody down the road throwing out any drama, lol. BTW, these are the 747-281Bs and 747SR-81s 1978-2000. Sadly, there is not nearly enough high-res source material available to do the Peanuts logojet from 1997. :{)

As for Ranmori, he's very laid back so long as credited. The best way to get a hold of him is Facebook (he's in that group chat I added you too, otherwise hard to find him as his name is in Japanese characters). I'll send you a link to his profile over Facebook messenger, he will surely get back to you on that platform. For the Japanese carriers, I have split them up by their special liveries already in my 98 plans, but they changed liveries fast, and by 1998 there were already maybe 10 or so liveries from JAL\ANA that had gone away from the mid 1990s! One hell of a job it'll be to do those LOL. But man, will HND\ITM\CTS\FUK look damn cool with them. I think the majority of the JAL 747-400D fleet wore special liveries at one point. Most of them complex haha, so I doubt you'd find the sources for most of them. Though the Pokemon 747-400 International version came out in 1999, if you paint, I will add the SFO-NRT flights it launched in 1999 to the 1998 ANA plans with that aircraft. That was the actual airplane used to launch the route, and the Japanese airlines often send them same aircraft flying NRT-SFO-NRT in a 24 hour period several days in a row, so it would still be realistic as we did usually see it much of the week in those days here. Glad to see you back!

I really don't have plans to do the logojets for ANA. The issue is three-fold. First, there are plenty of pictures available, but the biggest ones are 1024-size, which are about one-quarter the size they need to be for HD painting reference and just blowing them up will distort them badly. Second, the four-side texture-mapping of Erez's models would make doing these a nightmare. Having done a small handful of abstract-scheme logojet 747s with the FAIB models (DLH Cargo, SAA, SIA) I am certain of this. Lastly, the ANA logojet paints do exist for the AIA 744 models, and FSX/P3Dv4 model conversions are available as well. If I was doing this for money, it would be ten-to-twelve-hour days, and of course I would do it over time. But, it's freeware dynamic eye-candy, so I won't mentally shatter myself for the sake of re-doing every AIA paint for the FAIB models.
I'm also not planning on doing the ANA 744/744D. Ranmori's paints cover the time period specified very well. My only intent with the classic ANA 747s is to expand their time period of use, nothing more.
I promised two other 747 projects, ANA being one of them. I should have more previews within the week.

Wonderful stuff, glad to have you back mikey. I hope to have some free time soon to start moving to P3Dv5 once the JF A300 comes out in the next few months.

Not sure why the 767 and 747 paintkits were made like that...the older FAIB models aren't hard to paint at all. By the way, I've never found any of the AIA ones, just did a search on Avsim and Flightsim and came up empty except for stuff from the 2000s. Does anyone know where those are?
