Airline Name: Interflug Country: East Germany (DDR/GDR) Callsign: INTERFLUG IATA/ICAO Code: IF/IFL Aircraft: IL6, IL8, TU3 Notes: Added a handful of representative charters to the West and some Black Sea resort destinations. Interflug has a fairly regular operation to Glasgow, Scotland to change out crews on East German fishing trawlers. As with most Eastern Bloc carriers, they had many more aircraft than they scheduled. Airline Name: Burma Airways Country: Burma Callsign: UNIONAIR IATA/ICAO Code: UB/UBA Aircraft: F27, F28, DHT Notes: OAG and ABC schedules were completely different. I think I found a nice balance between the two with destinations and frequency. Not many photos from the time, but best I can tell, all aircraft wore the modified "Burma Airways" titles, having dropped the "Union" titles in the mid 70s. Airline Name: TACV Cabo Verde Airlines Country: Cabo Verde Islands Callsign: TRANSVERDE IATA/ICAO Code: VR/TCV Aircraft: HS7, DHT Notes: Lots of downtime but I left the additional aircraft in the plans. Added one RAI-BXO flight after relations between Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau were reestablished in July 83. Download:briansretroai.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/brw_tacvcaboverdeairlines_su83.zip
Airline Name: British Midland Country: United Kingdom Callsign: MIDLAND IATA/ICAO Code: BD/BMA Aircraft: 707, DC9, F27, VCV, SH3, SH6 Notes: Includes representative charters for the 707s. There's some days, especially weekends, when BMA scheduled multiple flights out of Jersey back-to-back-to-back, within 10-15 minutes. It was designed that way to provide extra lift with smaller aircraft. Download:briansretroai.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/brw_britishmidland_su83.zip
One of the items on my "to do" list [ it's a long list ! ] is to get over to the Surrey records office and copy the Gatwick ATC logs for July 1983 [ I am almost certain that they have them ] - then we will have the "actuals" for all the non-scheduled operators - but nothing much will happen until we get out of the current Covid problems !
