A while back, I picked up the ever-elusive matching set of NA/Intl OAGs for July 1983 and have been making my way through them. My hope is to create a complete AI setup, all based on the same week, to give the fullest and most accurate portrait of the Summer of 83.
My goal is to also to create matching repaints where appropriate, though as you can imagine, the task is a bit daunting. I'll upload paints when they're finished, though flightplans will be much more frequent.
Thank you for your hard work on this project. I look forward to adding these flightplans to my flightsim. It's really nice you're also able to create some of the repaints. I worked at Lambert Field back in 1980 and can't wait to see that airport come alive again. Back in the day, there were planes for as far as you could see. Unfortunately now, you can count the planes sitting at the airport on both hands.

travelsonic: Even with FS2020 out now, I want to keep working on a little project I started a while ago that would allow users to apply a "patch" to their FS install (backing up the original files automatically) that would ease restrictions on things like customweather

travelsonic: I've already figured out how to raise the layer count limit for wind, temp/pressure, visibility, etc, from 20 to 127 (since it uses a signed byte), also found that the weather altitude cap is hard coded and modified that

darrenvox: anyone enying the last few weeks of summer?
Sept 4, 2020 11:33:01 GMT -6
travelsonic: Welp, I figured out that in FS2020 one just needs to edit a weather preset (which, despite the file estension is an XML file) to get all sorts of really wacky weather.
