Does anyone know what happened to the airline history website that used to be at airlines.afriqonline.com/ I really miss it. Has it been moved or is there another one like it? Andy

I, too, noticed that this site disappeared. Too bad, it was neat. Kurt

Time and money. It takes a lot of investment in both to run a website these days, believe me. That's the reason I sometimes get a bit snappy at those who are demanding updates - I have to lead a life away from the Internet sometimes, and it takes time to do an update. A site as large as that one had to be a devil to maintain.

I'm sure it does. Still, I wish the owner of that site would have done as Aeromoe did and left the site up even without updates. Also, I wish these folks would offer to sell the content on their sites on CD ROM if they are going to take them down. As far as updates on this site, I will be happy to take them as they come. Would it help if we uploaded our completed FPs to Avsim while we are waiting for the update so that others can have immediate access? Andy

My attitude towards uploading FPs to other sites is simple - you did the work, do with that work what you wish. We're just "one stop shopping" at RAI, nothing is exclusive unless the auther wants it to be.

Thanks for the clarification on that. I was wondering about that.
BTW, I hope you don't mind if we merely ask once in a while about the progress of site updates. I certainly don't want to sound "demanding."

Oh, no, that's not "demanding" at all - anything asked on the forum is a legitimate question, IMO. I was referring more to e-mails that had been sent to my personal account at various times over the years making somewhat snide comments about the lack of progress on sites I have run. I have a very English sense of humor - it's often dry and sarcastic., so don't take a lot of what I say that seriously. After enough time on this forum, you'll be able to tell if something really bothered me or not Wait until hockey season starts again and Ductape and I start trading barbs... Oh yeah, Ductape, what's your thoughts on the Stanley Cup in Raleigh?

In that case, er... could we have a progress report on the next update? BTW -- Although I am American, I consider myself an Anglophile with a very British sense of humor myself. Andy

In that case, er... could we have a progress report on the next update? Sooner than we bring the troops home from Iraq... Actually, not much longer, I finally got all the source files transferred over from the other computer and have started work on the next update.

Now what is bunch of "Good Ole NASCAR Boys" going to do with Lord Stanley's Cup? Probably make a still out of it and brew-up some moonshine..... In fact I am just getting over my hangover from my MOLSON & La BLATTS, plus several pounds of Back Bacon stuper. "Oh Canada, My Home and Native Land.......... Oh Lord Stanley's Cup We Stand on Guard for Thee!!" ;D

Hey guys the Stanley cup will be played in Detroit just like the 2006 World Series Sure it will...... Right after I buy Super Bowl Tickets to watch the Lions play in it.... ;D It was good that this last Super Bowl was played in Detroit, as it was about a neutral a site as there is in the NFL. It's not like the Lions ever going to make there.. How many Super Bowls have the Lions been in??? Also as a person who lives in Oregon, what happened to the 2nd coming of Joe Montana, the "Savior" of the Lions, you know, Joey Somebody from the U of O??

It was a bust. Just a commercial site. But there are a lot of good Wikies on various airlines and airports.

Oh Lord Stanley's Cup We Stand on Guard for Thee!!" ;D Well, you know that the cup that resides upon the rings of winning teams is a replica? The real Stanley Cup is safe and sound at the Hall of Fame in Toronto. The real one was pretty abused before the NHL replaced it with the replica in the 1960's, IIRC. I know the Ottawa Senators of the 1920's got really wasted after winning and kicked it into the river - then, they had to go downstream and fish it out after they sobered up. Gretzky, in his autobio, talked about how a rumor got started that the Oilers were a bunch of cokeheads because the cup had been seen with a bunch of straws in it. Gretzky explained that it wasn't cocaine in the cup, they had just turned it into the world's biggest B-52 shooter. Here's some trivia, and I challenge you to answer without Google or any other aid - what was the first American team to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup?
