How does the non AI DC6 effect frame rates. Can it be used for AI purposes sparingly ?

I don't like to use them much but if you only use a few its not a problem. Still would like to see this one done on the AI model along with Karair and Iscargo.

The screenshot of the Red-Bull DC-6 is the AI DC-6. The most detailed .lod is the CalClassic flyable model, but lod-ed. The lesser detailed .lod's are the older AI DC-6 models in sequential order.

Where do you get that AI base model. I downloaded the Cal classic HQ file with the DC6 and in the preview the model does not look as detailed as that.(I didn't try it in the sim yet).

Make sure to change your aircraft.cfg around to have that model show up. Note: Older model textures won't work. However, any flyable model texture will work. So, paint something up for the flyable plane and it'll work on the AI version as well. ;D Do read the readme's on the new CalClassic AI stuff... As much as I didn't want to, it really helped me out in the end.

Thanks. I hadn't read the readme file. Anyway after a bit of trial and error i finally got it to work. So i think i understand it now, but just to clarify these points for me please. 1- You need to use the new .GP model in the Cal Classic package AI DC6 file? 2- The original AI repaints that are in the Cal Classic packages will not work with the .GP model ? 3 - You need to find an existing repaint on avsim or whatever site of the Flyable DC6. 4 - After deleting a few .BMP as per the instructions, it will work with the .GP AI model? Is what i am saying all correct?

1: Yes. There are variants of that new model. Spinners, No-Spinners, Cargo, and PAX; So use which ever you prefer.
2: Correct. The lower-polygon AI DC-6 liveries will not work on the newer AI model.
3: You can use existing flyable repaints on the new AI model. So you can replace the older liveries for the older model with newer ones from flyable ones you can find on Avsim or wherever.
4: Correct, but you do not have to delete anything, necessarily.

No worries. Once I found out any flyable livery worked, I took all of my Evert's DC-6's and re-vamped PANC... Here's what it looks like now... ;D (Every DC-6 has its own registration and special markings.) It doesn't hurt to run a texture converter through the files. I ran one through and changed everything to 32-bit and things look even better than before.

If it does i think i might try and set up some serious South American piston traffic.
