I've known about this site for quite some time, but until just a couple of days ago I had completely overlooked this forum. My loss.
So, being one of the new boys and now seeing what goes on here, I'm wondering:
1) When you're looking for a particular repaint, what sites do most of you try other than Avsim and flightsim.com? They're about the only two I've had much luck with myself.
2) When I complete a retro AI repaint, is it considered good form to post notice of it here when it's uploaded? I'll never be a high volume guy, but I've done a few and will upload the Southern DC-9s in '70s colors in a day or two. They're finished except for uploading.
This is a great group and exactly in line with my very specialized interest. One thing I'd like to see a lot more of is retro airports, although Tom Gibson and his guys have made amazing progress in that area. Thanks Tom!

Avsim and Flightsim are the two best sites to upload to - they are both very respectful of copyrights and don't attempt to make money off your work. I would post a notice here, as the new RAI site I am launching next month will have a repaints listing page, so posting a notice here will ensure that I know it's out there and can list it on our site.

Thanks, Kristopher. Yes, I do upload my things to Avsim, and from now on will post a message here whenever I put something there.
But what I was looking to find out in my first question was if there are any *other* sites worth looking at if you can't find what you need at Avsim or Flightsim.com. A Piedmont YS-11 for example.
And while I'm at it, are there any good photo sites that y'all use to hunt reference photos from the distant past? Airliners.net is great but the offerings start to get pretty sparse when you go back to the sixties. Thanks again! ...Dave

An interesting source is ebay for airline postcards. Another very useful site for airline logos is brandsoftheworld.com.
