Was it my imagination or was there some talk at one time about either or both of these airports being retrofitted with 1960's or 1970's scenery?

I did the AFCADs and Nick Botamer the terminals for both airports, dated 1975. Nick also sent me KPIT terminals for the 1960's and 1980's. I still need to add new signs and other buidlings I will get back to those after the site update is done. I also have an AFCAD mod that works with the ATL '79 scenery on the web already (the FS2004 one, not the FS98) - it needs a couple of buildings like the EA hangar and old FBOs. Agian, that will come after the update.

Excellent. Looking forward to that. Thanks, Kris. I owe a lot to Nick, he is the guru of all things retro St. Louis, he provided the source information I used for the AFCAD. Pittsburgh, I have a 1976 Jeppesen for, so it's based off that. The Old Terminals site provided gate-placement info.

Wow, a "retro" St. Louis!!
I have always wondered why that airport has never been done by all the payware developers out there (FlyTampa,FSDreamteam,Blueprint et.al.).
I lived there for 7 years in the 1980's, back before the "remodel". They used to have a great viewing area (since long gone). There was nothing better than sitting at the viewing area, on a "stinkin' hot" (98+, with high humidity), day waiting for "TWA 1 Heavy" takeoff for Honolulu. Nothing much more exciting than watching a 747-100 roaring almost directly at you, down 30L, wondering all the time if he really was going to make it. Takeoffs at high gross were "marginal" at those hot summer temps. You could always tune to the tower and listen to the crew of "01" constantly calling for the temp. You knew it was close to outside limits.
Ah yes, those were the days!!
looking forward to your release.
Best Bill
