Yes, the forum looks different. I changed it to look like the new site - so now everyone has a peek of what it will look like.

Just a hint that I am very close to completion. I have done the 1980's and am now adding in the updates - there's about 10 more to go. It's taking a while because of all the custom logos I've made because either Aerosite didn't have one, it was from the wrong era, or I just didn't like it. I hope to have the new site up in a test shell next weekend or shortly thereafter. Once the staff gets a look and any errors are corrected, I'll take it live.

Hi.
I find the re-desinging principally a good idea. But, I think that this is - for certain people e.g. with eye problems - a bit difficult in terms of reading the messages without problems. Isn´t it therefore possible to display the the text´s in the forum against a bright screen?
Kind regards.

Sorry - but this is definetly not an improvement. I agree with Stefan: It is better to display dark text on a bright background. My eyes are hurting already...

Actually, my vision is the very opposite - I have trouble seeing things on a bright background because the light areas overpower everything. I can't even work comfortably in bright light, only ambient. I also have to wear very dark sunglasses in daylight. Not sure why I have this problem, it's fairly recent - maybe working with computers for so long, going back to the DOS days when all we had were bright characters on a dark background. I'll lighten some areas as a compromise, unless the demand to switch back is overwhelming - which, so far, it isn't. I will not, however, change the new site any time soon - too much work has gone into it that it would be at least another month to change it. If the new design does not work out - and it would need an overwhelming majority opinion for me to do it, I will change it in the future.

Right now, this is the best I can do. The problem lies within the limitations of the forum. If I change the table backgrounds to a lighter color with darker text, then the text disappears in the main background area. Changing the main background means a change in the logo. So, I changed the font color to make the contrast less garish. I can change the logos, but it will be a while for me to completely redraw them, and that's not a high priority right now. I have too much graphics work still ahead for the new site, so it would have to wait until that's done before I change any of the already complete set of logos.

Much, much better than blue on black. Can at least read this without having to turn out the lights!! LOL.
Looking forward to the new site.

Best Bill I think some of that may be individual monitors/video cards. I'm currently editing everything on my laptop as my desktop setup is still in Oklahoma City (too much and too delicate to move just yet), and it's one PC feeding two LCDs and a second PC feeding one of the LCDs via a KVM, so I can run one system on both monitors for flying, or both on individuals for designing. That provides me much more insight into how the designs look and work.

The End of the Plain Website... How about red/aztec gold ? I take it you never saw the Braniff International Virtual Airways site back when Daniel and I were running it?
