Hi All. Back to work next week after taking a few days off so things will go a lot slower. Anyway being that I will be out tomorrow I thought I would give you a sneak peak at the first of the new AA fleet, the 727-200. Again its not finished but its very close. The 100 will be a doddle to do and then on to the mad dogs etc. There will be another variation of the 200 as the later birds had more plastic in the tail so more paint!! Anyway here is a quick peak before I turn in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. For some one who hates painting I'm enjoying myself Paul

That looks fantastic. American is the Holy grail of all painters to get right, mainly due to the fact its appearance is subjective to lighting conditions. That paint looks as good as any ive ever saw.
Keep up the good work! the 727-100 is in dire need of an update so I look forward to that.

Hi All. Been working away slowly on the AA fleet and now have 2 x 727-100 and 200 completed and just finished the MD-80. Next the 767-200. A quick testing picture so you can see a couple of finished repaints at home. Paul

What DFW scenery are you using there? I love the combination of brown and white jetways, very realistic Stan

The first of the 707s: B707-123B , circa 1974.. Hmmm... Why did I pick that year? edit: for recent screenshots, see the release thread in the "general retroAI discussions" forum ) Left to do are the 707-323B and -323C. I'll avsim the lot when they're all done. Exit runway when able Christian

Yes! A repaint ive been looking forward to for a long time. If anything would inspire me to put in more 70's traffic it would be the 707. ;D
Really sorry to nitpick but in some of the photos the "American" titles dont seem to go as far back on the fuselage and the AA on the tail look a bit taller. Other than that its perfect and I doubt what ive mentioned is all that noticeable anyway.

Thx in advance

here www.airliners.net/open.file/1129598/L/ and here : www.airliners.net/open.file/1114696/L/ The lettering stops a few windows infront of the emergency exit. However now after looking at a few photos I see there was quite a bit of variation, so it could just be the particular airframe your painting. I suppose it could also be to do with whatever airframe was used to paint the base textures. In the last paint I done for instance there should be another window......somwhere on the left hand side .

Thanks Elliott, I'll fix that. re the # of windows, that aircraft could be a Dreamliner - parts shortage! ;D

(thanks, Jas!) OK - here's a new try. edit: for recent screenshots, see the release thread in the "general retroAI discussions" forum ) The changes are: 1. AA logo resized/reshaped to match the logo on the pic (traced with Illustrator) 2. "American" : ditto. 3. US flag added 4. reg. moved forward two windows' width I'm waiting for the definite OK or further corrections before adjusting the alpha layer Thanks for the input, guys Christian ps: I know about the ventral fin that shouldn't be there. It's the only 707-100B model we've got (unless Tom has an irresistible urge to do another variation on the mdl )
