Hi everyone,
In a few weeks MSFS FS Traffic from Just Flight will be released.
In the description, it says that we can customize our traffic. We can put our own flight plans, planes and liveries.
"Customise your flight plans with the Traffic Control Centre This powerful tool enables you to create new flight plans, add your own aircraft liveries and even add brand-new third-party aircraft models as AI, all included in one simple-to-use app."
I wanted to know if some of you had already thought about the future of AI retro with this addon. If the p3dv5 models will be compatible with MSFS for example. Or if we have to convert all the textures in PBR.
I think we would be finally able to have an MSFS AI retro traffic. It would be a good idea to consider this addon.

After now 6 weeks with MSFS and spending a lot of time on installing manual traffic i got so mad with all the issues that MSFS have with custom traffic. After also reading the feature list of FS traffic i think it sounds very promising and i have a lot of hopes in that Tool to finally have an easy way to asd custom traffic that also works as it should in MSFS:-) Until i will get my hands on it i will for now keep the retro stuff in P3D and in MSFS i stuck in "today" using AIG OCI.

Soon you'll be able to do it all for free. In the last few days I've gotten many (but not all) retro aircraft working. However, almost EVERY LAST airport (payware and default) needs to be totally re-done. "Injected" traffic such as FSTL Live Traffic and AIG OCI installed plans will pop up ignoring some of the issues (but still get stranded by bad taxi/runway nodes), but offline traffic will not spawn at the vast majority of appropriate positions still. So now, the issue will soon be less about getting planes into the sim and more about them not popping up to begin with, or not taking off/landing...let alone parking in the correct place lol.
A tutorial will be coming soon that will allow you to convert your FSX thru P3Dv5 models and textures and your traffic.bgls to work in MSFS spending perhaps 3-10 minutes on each aircraft depending (once you get the steps down, many tools are required but it isn't "difficult"). More time is sometimes required if you have to convert from scratch sometimes, which seems to be working for many models like AIM, TCAI, CIS etc that will likely never have official models or AIG\FSTL conversions.
The same way I can go into my scenery library in P3D and check/uncheck airport scenery and AI traffic for 1998/1999 or 2002/2003 or 2022/2023, I can now use MSFS Addons Linker to activate and deactivate these files in MSFS. However, best I can tell, you can't do this with the game launched the way you can with P3D, so you'll have to exit and reload MSFS (which loads WAY faster than the other sims) to change time periods. But now that I've cracked the code so to say (since I guess 2 years in I'm the first person who cared enough to actually finally freggin' do it for everyone...) and can get models with no legal conversions working, I doubt that product will matter. Especially given how Just Flight likes to use crappy ass models and stuff historically, I would imagine it will be a "good enough" product vs AIG/RAI levels of realism...

I've been in talks with JF about the possibility of an official retro traffic expansion, and they've showed interest. Hopefully once it's out and they've added some other planes they plan on adding, things might go a little further and we'll have something to plug and play.

I've been trying to go straight to the source with that lol. Best case is that one day its around via updates with MSFS itself.
