I've successfully tweaked KLAX into a pretty good facsimile of what it looked like in 1968. Terminals, taxiways, etc. What is missing is static aircraft stairs. I have not been able to find any in FSX, but in searching the web, I came across a post by Tom Gibson explaining how he has some in his CA 1962 scenery package, which I have installed.
My question is -- in ADE, can these objects simply be copied and pasted in? I am thinking not, since the texture would also have to be placed into the scenery of whatever airport it's being imported into. So that being the case, would pasting the object into the scenery and also copying it's texture into the relevant airport texture folder do the trick? I am new to ADE and am still trying to figure out what's under the hood there.
Thanks!
Alex

From my understanding, that would do the trick. I don't have much experience with objects in ADE but it's a safe bet.

I am interested in how to do this also. In my KJFK ADEX file (on my Onedrive) I imported the old KLAX tower into my JFK, since it looked a little similar to the former tower there. However it seems to be very buggy and does not appear every time the aiport loads. If anyone knows why this is I would like to know
FYI - I used Objects Manager - import object and selected the LAX scenery file

With payware, some objects are "geo-locked" and will only work at set coordinates. An example was I tried to surround ZGGX with the FlyTampa Kai Tak highrise apartments and they didn't show up, turned out that was the case. Otherwise, in ADE, go to "tools" and select the library editor option then navigate to an airport scenery folder (like Microsoft Games\FSX\Addon Scenery\LAX 1968\Scenery for example) and then select that "scenery" folder. It'll then add all the objects there to your ADE library and you can select them from right-clicking and selecting "add library object" at any other airport.

But for some reason the objects rarely show up, but they do show up sometimes. Does not make any sense why? Its as if the placement of files etc may make a difference

Chasen -- one thing I need clarification on: I am searching in the other scenery folders and adding the .bgl files, right? For example, if I want the airstairs from the Cal Classics 1962 I navigate to that folder's scenery in the LIBRARY OBJECT MANAGER of ADE and select the .bgl file that is named "airstairs.bgl" with the assumption that it is the folder that contains the airstairs. And the textures are taken automatically from the correct texture folder on my computer, since the .bgl file contains that information, yes?

You don't need to add each object, you just need to add the "scenery" folder that the objects are in. ADE will then scan all the objects and they will be available for selection as well as show up in ADE as their proper size/dimensions(very handy). Otherwise, they show up as generic "black box" (unknown) objects.
