Hi All:
So I've added many airline names to the airlines.cfg file of FSX, but ATC is not saying any of them. Braniff, Allegheny, etc. It won't even say GLOBAL for TGA. It also won't say my fictional airline, PMS, which is only letters. I have editvoicepack but don't understand how to integrate all of these components even after reading many forum posts on all the boards. They are all indicated in the atc_airline= dection of the aircraft.cfg for all flyable and AI aircraft.
A checklist would be useful here.
Thanks!
Alex

1. Add your call sign to the aircraft.cfg. Make a note of exactly how it is spelled
2. (I'm used to EditVoicePack 3 for FS9 but I imagine 4 works the same for FSX). Under the left hand menus, right click Callsigns, then Add new.
3. In the resulting boxes, type out the required information. The "Phrase" box should be set to exactly what you want to be said and exactly what you have set in the aircraft.cfg
4. Once the information is entered, now the fun part. The bottom right part of the screen is dedicated to finding and selecting existing parts of the spoken ATC phraseology and names. You will have to use chunks of these names and phrases to get the individual sounds and syllables for each Callsign.
5. Select a clip that has a sound you need, and in the resulting waveform drag from the sides to adjust the start and end of the selected sound. Repeat until the entire phrase is spoken. While there is a massive amount of spoken dialogue in the default voicepack, finding specific sounds and syllables is sometimes just not possible.
6. Finish step 4 and 5 for one of the several included voices. Then right click on the one you finished and select "Copy to > Other voices". Listen to all and make sure they sound okay. Usually some small adjustments will be needed
7. Once satisfied, Save, then Compile the Voicepack. Select any additional options you would like
Hope this helps!
EDIT: if I remember correctly, EVP will install a massive amount of new Callsigns and identifiers the first time you compile a voice pack, done from their servers. They should include a large amount of the missing Callsigns you mentioned

OK I did all that -- wasn't sure how to install it but from what you say, it should happen automatically, yes?
