First of all, thank you for the flightplans and repaints that can be found on this forum. Great to see that in 2021 you can make your P3Dv4 look like it's the late 90's. I have now managed to get most airlines and flightplans in the sim, however I run into problems with certain aircraft with the Russian airlines. These are the TCAI Tu-154 and the Il-62. After privately converting these, I keep seeing the engine covers. Are these models originally intended as static aircraft? When the mentioned aircraft start a flight, these engine covers remain on the engines. So my question is, can this be changed? Sincerely, Sander

Sadly, we are at the mercy of conversion when there is nothing official. When you are flying around, you see them, or just in MCX? I don't think I have that problem.

Thank you for your quick response. When flying around, the engine covers are visible. I am afraid I will have to do with it as there is no official conversion.

A quick and easy fix would be to paint those engine covers all black. Not perfect but it’d be passable until these get converted fully to P3D.

I checked and I do have the same problem. What cgold suggested is any easy fix for the most part.

Part visibility is set in the original XML definition. If you know how to turn off the chocks for my models, it's possibly something like that.
Exit runway when able Christian

Having converted these myself what you need to do is identify the engine covers & either remove them or set a visibility tag to them. It's really easy to do. Add this line to the MCX modeldef & assign the covers as custom_part_vis_blocks_nav
<PartInfo> <Name>custom_part_vis_blocks_nav</Name> <Visibility> <Parameter> <Code> (A:GROUND VELOCITY,knots) 0 != (A:LIGHT NAV,bool) or if{ 0 } els{ 1 } </Code> </Parameter> </Visibility> </PartInfo> <PartInfo>
What you will also need to do is when you are importing the model is when "set condition variables" comes up, set all the custom boxes to 1 otherwise the the top engine will be see through.
Hope this helps, Dan
