Hi All After downloading so many great repaints from this and Brian's site, I thought I should contribute something back - so I have made this ADE file for KLAX as it was in 1983. Meticulous research has been put into finding out the correct terminal assignments from this year for every airline (no easy task!) Hours of testing has been done to ensure the aircraft do not freeze / get stuck or collide with each other. Will happily take feedback and any more info / data that anyone can contribute. FILES NOW ON MY ONEDRIVE HERE------ OneDrive---- Some Notes - Radius of the aircraft are all set as they are when you download them (I have no idea why all the other ADE files I download have tiny radius!?) - The new large tower has been removed. - Jet bridges have been removed from Terminal 1 and Tom Bradley to give them a more under construction look as they were this year (cranes would be even better if I can work out how to add them!) - Some extra blocks have been added to the old Int'l terminal to provide a better shape for this period. - All airline assignments are per normal airline code - except for ACT = Air Canada Tristar, PAT = Pan Am Tristar (as the L1011 radius is very oversized) - I cannot find where USAir parked for this year (their first year at LAX) does anyone know? If anyone has more information on LAX for 1983 please contribute it here! I have also nearly finished a SFO, JFK, LHR and LGW. Thanks and will look forward to someone trying this out for me Carl

Thanks for the reply! Hope you enjoy the ADEX. Terminal 1 was not open in Summer 1983 - it opened in Jan '84 I believe. I have placed USAir at the Western Terminal as there were spare gates there, but that is only a guess. Muse Air parked on the AA terminal in Summer '83. Its amazing how the gate assignments between Summer '83 and Summer '84 for many airlines at LAX are completely different.

Cool! Are you using the default airports? At SFO, only T1 and T3 from 1983 look anything like they did at that time, with the backside of the "A Concourse" of T1 as it was then known (the former international terminal) blocked by the current Concourse A (International Terminal). I know a member here was working on backdated SFO\SJC and other airports and had re-done the terminals to look like they did at the time, but then we didn't hear anything else. Worth searching for, he took some awesome screenshots. Thanks for doing this.

Yes- FSX default airports - sorry should have clarified that. The default LAX is easier to work with. The default SFO not so much, since the entire terminal complex is one block with nothing seperable. It would be great to get a copy of those other SFO files if anyone has them? The JFK I have created is looking good so far. I removed the entire large ugly modern IAB building and replaced it with one that looks more of the era. Not sure how to add a screenshot on here to show it!

- I cannot find where USAir parked for this year (their first year at LAX) does anyone know? Here's what I can tell, based on the Imperial October 83 timetable. 2 - Pan Am, Air Canada, Intl 3 - TWA, Eastern, Hawaii Express, Southwest 4 - American, Northwest, Muse Air, AirCal, Capitol (commuters and helicopters in TBIT footprint) 5 - Western, Mexicana, USAir, Frontier 6 - Delta, Continental, PSA, Republic 7 - United 7/8 Extension - United, Imperial West Imperial - World, Condor, Martinair, other charters While 1 was being built, there were some RON spaces on the tarmac along the western side of the building. I believe PSA and some of the international carriers used them.

I know in 1984, TBIT and T1 were in full use, did charter flights still use West Imperial? The terminal maps I've seen don't list any airlines using it.

It is interesting how some airlines seemed to either move a lot, or be a big of an enigma. Capitol for example is listed in various timetables, as being in Terminal 2, Terminal 5, and now Terminal 4 in this one! Muse Air had gate 44 of T4. I will upload an updated ADE file. I hope at least someone is able to make use of it. Done a lot of testing to ensure minimum taxi deadlocks etc.

Start a Google Drive like many of us here have and upload it there, that is what I can recommend. That way you can do as many updates as you need using the same link address.

Great idea - here is the link My files all on one place and I will try to remember to Sync them with those in my FSX. Hopefully the link works - let me know if it does not. Unfortunately this does not seem to work as a signature like Google Drive does. --------------- OneDrive

This file has now been updated to work for P3Dv5 . (for the default P3D scenery)
Quite a few improvements added: - Better runway utilisation of AI traffic / minimum go-arounds - Updated Pan Am terminal - Cranes added for Tom Bradley construction site - Fixed some gates with errors - Taxiways allow smooth AI flow with limited freezes / dropouts.
File on my OneDrive as before in new P3D folder.
