I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere befpre but I was hoping someone here could help. I noticed a peculiar problem recently when flying into KBNA. Some of the AI aircraft were floating. I read about this problem before but never witnessed firsthand. From what I gathered, It only appears to be affecting one particular model, the HTAI SD3-30. So I did some digging around my FS and looked at other airports where this particular model (based on airline flightplan) would be present to determine whether the problem was isolated to BNA or persistent throughout. Turns out it's a common occurrence everywhere the HTAI shorts 330 is present, and just so happens that problem also appears with the Shorts 360 model from HTAI as well. Both models float no matter which add-on or default scenery they are in, some just a few inches of the ground (which is probably why I never really noticed it before) and some way higher like those seen here at BNA (see below). From what I can tell, the problem seems to be consistent with the model, and not the scenery (AFCAD) so I tried tweaking the model's contact points but to no avail. Has anyone experienced this with their AI or with these specific AI models? If so, what was the fix? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

They might have a broken flight model, have you thought of changing the .air file?

Gotta be contact points. I don't have the Shorts in my sim but I'll look into it.

Noob21, no I have not tried replacing the .mdl. I used the downloaded model from Avsim, so I assumed it was GTG. I will try to replacing it with the one from the HTAI website and see what happens. Thanks!
Christian, thanks for your help! I really appreciate your time. Like I said, I tried tweaking the contact points but that didn't help. Not sure if I was doing it right, I just used some default points that I thought may work...didn't lol. I'm currently using the Shorts 330/60 in several flightplans. AA Eagle, NYA connection, Comair, BEX, NewAir, Henson, and Allegheny. I'm sure I have some flyging around in Europe too.

Could you post the contact points section from the aircaft.cfg? Also, are you using fs9 and, if not, has the aircraft been converted to whatever sim you're using?

I'm using FS9 for retroAI and from what I gather, yes the SD3-30 model is for FS9. These are what came with the model I downloaded:

I see yours are different so I will try the ones you provided and go from there. I also noticed that Henry Tomkiewicz provided an update to his models for FS9 which includes the Shorts on Avsim. I downloaded that as well and will try both later today and let you know. Thanks!

Update: Problem fixed! Replaced the contact points with the ones provided here and updated the .mdl files for both SD3-30 and 60 with those from AVSIM. Both aircraft are now firmly on the ground. Thanks for the help!
