I was a bit surprised to see a Pan Am Airbus A300 still flying in 1997 in Los Angeles. Didn't the airline close its doors in 1991?

AFAIK, it is so called PAN AM-II, which existed in 1996-1998. It was established by former employeese of the original PAN AM.

It was an (Ex-) Carnival A300, I think. They were a part of the second rendition of Pan Am in the later 90’s. They flew 737-400’s as well.

I do - I kinda bent the rules and I have both Carnival and Pan Am II flying. The A300’s are still with Carnival and the Pan Am II is mostly 727’s.

Yes, Carnival became Pan Am, and 727s, 737-400s, and A300s got the livery. When Carnival failed in I think 1998, the whole fleet wasn't yet repainted and several planes were still in the Carnival livery. I run 96\97 and 98\99 as different eras, 96\97 has mostly Carnival while I made most of the planes Pan Am for the 99 version. I think only 1997 was done for Carnival, I will get Carnival\Pan Am 1998 done eventually. I already did the repaints needed for both fleets.
