I was looking over AI aircraft in the view window of FS9. What I noticed is that quite a few airline repaints do not appear correctly? I downloaded Shep's Metro Airlines and Rio Airways repaints for Henry's Twin Otter but unknown to me as to why, both repaints appeared blurry whereas the Air Illinois repaint is crystal clear. I have the same problem with repaints for Dee's Metro 3 in this case Rio Airways and Scheduled Skyways. What is confusing to a newbie like me is why the textures are fine in one repaint and blurred in another? In fact, before I had to re-install my OS, repaints of Fort Worth Air and Mid Pacific on Dee's YS-11 were sharp but now there not except for that of PBA. Another example are repaints for the AI F28 in Altair and Empire liveries are sharp but those in Mid Pacific and Piedmont are not?
I have also noticed with those fuzzy repaints, areas of green textures on the fuselage and wing as well as the windscreen?
Finally, what is the correct cg height number for Dee's Metro 3, because the aircraft does not make contact with the surface area?
All comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated - Thanks
Mike

shut off mip maps in your FS settings and see if it fixes the problem, i mention this because you say the PBA YS-11 isnt blurry, if you are using my paint for it, i don't use Mip maps, i figure if people want them they can apply them themselves.
the areas of green are due to that being the background color on the texture files, and the mip blurring lets it appear on the aircraft.
As for the contact points on Dee's Metro... no clue?

If you see green textures, you use a model that is newer than the textures. Dee often updates his models, they still work with the old repaints, but he has mapped more parts like windows and flipped engines, to allow to paint logos on engine parts. You can use the old models for that repaint (hard to get) or must update the textures (hard to do if you don't have the source files). I would recommend to contact the author of the textures, it's an easy and quick fix. It is possible to edit an existing repaint yourself, but you'll loose some sharpnes while decompressing and you need to paste the missing parts from a newer paintkit to the original texture. What "updated" textures you are looking for? Download the Metro III again here, this has the newest FDE and work without any problems in my FS2004. htaimodels.com/downloads/dwai/fs_projects/Ralf

Thanks everyone for the prompt responses on this issue. I will follow-up on Pete's suggestion to not use mip maps and see what happens even though the situation has been resolved by luck or good fortune perhaps.
When I tried to load FS9, a FS9 Error Message box appeared which of course is like being hit by lightning if you know that feeling. So what I did next was remove the FS9.cfg file and let FS9 load and rebuild a new cfg file and the Error Message that displayed earlier did not come back and the AI aircraft textures showed correctly again.

(I got another similar texture issue that was touched on before somewhere...)
I was emailed several textures as images rather than an actual .rar or .zip file. I think Gmail compresses images a little bit because in the sim, these textures look slightly out-of-focus, rather than blurry. Is there any way to fix that kind of compression issue? Or do I need to ask for the originals?

Too little info.
Source format you received them in? JPEG?
If so, it's the compression and conversion to .bmp that's ruining image quality a wee bit.
Request .bmp files in a .zip. Or .png files with maximum quality if there ain't an alternative.

I saved the image as a .bmp but I'm not sure what it was sent to me as. I'm going to try turning off mipmaps and see where that leads me.
