I D/L Henry's paint kit from HTAI. It is a Photoshop file and I did get it to open up and work in PSP9. I saved it and compressed it through DXTBMP, all the usual stuff. The texture will not show up when I try to view it in Model Converter X. Other paints done by ther painters do show up for that model. I figured it might be a PSP thing so I tried GIMP and got the same results. Curiously, The bmp file is 1.33MB while the one that works is 1.00. I'm just banging my head trying to figure this out since I'm new to painting FS9 aircraft. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you cgold. I figured it out. All the other paint kits I used I had the mip map box in DXTBmp checked but the Shorts kit does not want you to include a mip map. Just another little quirk I learned as I continue this new-found, very-late-to-the-party, FS9 painting hobby!
jetstar: G-AWNA was painted up in incorrect BOAC colours when it was WFU, It was broken up in those colours in 1999. If you look closely, you can see the overpainted white where the BA titles were, and the tail is showing the speed stripe underneath the.. see part2

jetstar: Thin paint on the tail. They never did anything with the lower blue though. It was just homage to BOAC's original 747-136 when it was retired. Its a pity is was not preserved. Then again, BA would not pay to upkeep the 707 at Cosford, which was scrapped.

chasensfo: You're welcome for Avianca. I want to do Aces but there is not a SINGLE repaint done I can find of any aircraft of theirs...

fernbe: Ah yes indeed. South America 1998 has a terrible lack of 1990s repaints on modern models, with the only exceptions being Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay.

chasensfo: Yep...those are the countries we have done so far. Lol. For some reason no one bothered to do mid 1990s for most of South America, just early 1990s, if at all.

chasensfo: Brazil was my main focus anyway since it had the most commercial and military aviation on the whole continenent, it is kind of shocking how few flights the Colombian, Chilean, Argentine, etc carriers had compared to VARIG, VASP, TAM, and Transbrasil!

fernbe: Now I see why you're so obsessed with Brazil and Japan in the 1998 AI Project lol. The answer is easy: Talented repainters from these countries and a lot of good data and information.

fernbe: Welcome to Retro AI Group! Here we have multiple choices for retro repaints and flightplans, but I recommend using Brian's 1983 AI Project or Chasen's 1998 AI Project. Both have lots of high quality flightplans and repaints.

chasensfo: I wouldn't say "so obsessed" as much as if someone wants to paint an airline or make scenery for an area (Raphael has even made custom objects to backdate Tropical Sim Brazil scenery to 1998), then I make the plans. Ranmori and Rapahel get what they want

chasensfo: Thanks carolinanumber, I do love it here though I've been living in the SJC area for a while my family is and friends are still in SF and I'm there often. Love flying around the area more than most places I've been since
