His paints are definitely quite wonderful and extensive. I think the only jets that would need painting after these would be the cargo and new colors for the A300, the 767s, and possibly the long haul airbuses, as I think the A320 has already been done for the FAIB model, I think by 747sp.

Regarding SAA, yes the 1980s are perfectly covered by Brian. Thanks to him by the way. But, this bird - ZS-SAR, sister of ill-fated Helderberg and also a - 244B/M - was used as a full Pax aircraft for some years until going to SAA Cargo. It might be interesting to see her as a unique addition. www.jetphotos.com/photo/8847362However, it's no must - just a hint that this bird was still there post 1987. Also, I think that China Airlines of Taiwan misses some grey bellies aircraft, as that was done somewhere around 1985 and, thus for obvious reasons, not covered by the 1983 project. Is there any way, we can support you, dear Mike? Thanks for all your efforts and also for the PW JT9D-70 Avianca bird. Kind regards.

Here are the SAA 743s. Don't look too hard at the Ndizani variant, it's about 90% accurate, and definitely in the zone of "it's not perfect and I don't care." I'm satisfied with the sides and top, although the belly could use a little more work to get it in the "just right" category, but I am pretty smoked from focusing on this for almost a week. I may or may not go back and do some more work on it in the future, but for now, this took six days to get where it is currently, and I am pretty happy with it. There are two Ndizani variants, with sticker, window, and engine paint changes. One thing I would like from the photo hoarders, the black stylized Africa sticker on the 1996 (grey engine) variant, if anybody has a better image of that, I would be most grateful. I have also seen a photo of it with a different sticker, an Olympic one, but that picture was of a model, and I haven't found any real aircraft pix with that sticker. Any help on this would be welcome, but they have to be high-res so I can make out the text. Next up, 742s and Super Pigs. :{)

Here are the 742s, again extending Brian's work from 1983. There are two variants of the ill-fated ZS-SAS, and a post-crash variant of ZS-SAR in full pax config (#5 door tape). :{)

Hell yes!! Mike thank you for these! Just so you guys know, eth72s finished all the SAA flights from South African and I am chipping away at the rest. Won't be too long, but I am working on my IFR written in real life then Commercial/CFI ratings afterwards so it may be a while. ATA is to follow. Also, in addition to HRE, several African ADEX files for 1998/99 will be released soon as few airports have changed much in the last 22 years. So these paints will have proper homes soon.

Hi Mike, thanks so much for the SAA 747s. Just one thing to point out about the 747-400s. Your window configurations are correct for the early 90s, but in the mid 90s SAA reduces their first class and the window plugs were different. ZS-SAW, SAV, SAX, SAY had six plugged behind L1, six behind L2, six behind R1 and two behind L4 and R4. SAZ and SAK were delivered later and had two plugged behind L1 and R2 and six plugged behind both L2 and R2, two behind L4 and R4. SBS and SBK you have correct as delivered, later they were changed to same as SAZ and SAK.

Gotta love super pigs, any other SAA paints currently in the works, or just 747s? The cargo paints still need to be done but I think that’s it

Yes, they most certainly did, and it goes something like this...... I painted the A300s about ten years ago, but I am going to update them for corrections and current DDS standard, and I will include the freighter as well. :{)

Wow, I had no idea either, only knew of the cargo A300s. Thank you for these, Mikey! I'll make representative plans for them alongside SAA. The fact they transitioned into the 1998 livery means they must have been around in the late 1990s.
