So, back when I started doing this 747 painting rampage a few years ago, I really didn't address the -400s since I was focusing on 70s-80s painting, pretty much 100/200/300. I have been slowly making up for that over time, and here is the companion to my classic 747 DLH/CFG paints two or three years ago. There are clean/dirty options for 430/430M in original 1989 issue and 1997 Star Alliance, so these will work 1989- early 2000s. I also threw the CFG aircraft into this run, and allowed one fantasy repaint, if CFG had held on to this 430M until 1998. I already swapped it with one of the 767s in Chasen's FP (the extra 767 listing). I will also take care of the medium and little DLH aircraft, the sim-world fleet I have for 737/A300/A32X is from three or four different painters, all excellent work in their own right, but they don't match. This will also include a v2 run for my original A300/310 paints. :{)

I was sad to learn when doing Lufthansa that the Condor colors 747 was gone by 1996 or 1997. I have distinct memories of watching it at SFO, where Condor never had scheduled service but it was basically just a Lufthansa special livery I think as it operated the daily FRA flight sometimes. Back then was around the time MUC started with the A340-200 also, interesting traffic back then. Pre-COVID SFO had way more international carriers than the 90s, but with the A340 and 747 retirements, it was basically almost entirely 777s, 787s, A330s, and A350s. Miss the variety of the 1990s when there was a great mix of the new and the old and lots of experimentation where carriers like Canada 3000, SABENA and Balair CTA would pop in for a season just to see how they'd do and when a lot of routes still had tag-ons so you'd get to see lightly loaded international 747s blast off 01L/R headed to LAX, DEN, DFW, YVR, JFK, etc. and they'd climb away like crazy. At least it lives on in our sims.
Thanks to all these recent paints, a lot of AIA textures can be retired from my sim. What a world it'll be when every AI plane has PBR and high detail.

So, the Chinese have said that anyone who flies to Taiwan is not allowed to fly to us. Therefore this one LH 747-400 D-ABTD was repainted in Condor colors and flew from 1993 on the route Frankfurt - Bangkok - Taipei.

Yes, it was a condition from mainland China that any airline wanting to serve their airports, which were and are til today very lucrative, couldn't serve Taiwan. Which is why in the 1990s many subsidiaries with the "Asia/Asie" or Condor in the case of Lufthansa appeared.
Kind regards.

Apparently, I left out the grey engines on one of the paint runs, that is already sorted out, of course..... glad everybody's paying attention, lol. I updated both the textures and the screenshot.

I always wondered why there wasn't a Lufthansa 'Asia' subsidiary (BAW, SWR, KLM, AFR, JAL, and QFA all come to mind), question answered. :{)

I guess Lufthansa would've taken an "Asia" subsidiary, if Condor had not still belonged to the LH Group back then. It was just a few years later that Condor was sold to Thomas Cook - a big mistake as many think up to the day.
Kind regards.

Therefore this one LH 747-400 D-ABTD was repainted in Condor colors and flew from 1993 on the route Frankfurt - Bangkok - Taipei. Very interesting, it makes sense but I had not heard this. Seems like by the mid 1990s, say 1994-1996, every airline basically just stopped thinking China would enforce that role except for KLM (who still maintains an Asia fleet) and the Taiwan subsidiaries just became special liveries seen all over the world for a short time. British Airways and Swissair were also slow to remove the "Asia" subsidiaries, but had done so by 2000 or so I think.\ By the way, the AIA DC-9-30v2 on your models page is an empty folder in your Google Drive. I actually had somehow missed that the AIA DC-9-30 had a much better v2 until I went to install the ABX repaints by @cogld recently, can't wait to see it flying.

AIA DC-9-30v2: Sorry about the empty zip, that has been fixed, the P4/5 model is in there now....
A lot more DLH and some more DE will be forthcoming by the weekend, and all will be on the drive by Sunday or so. I should have the baby 'Buses done tomorrow, and will jumping into 721/722/732 and the Airbus medium-haul.
I have come to label Condor by its IATA code rather than its ICAO code, since I recently had an unfortunate incident with a texture-copy batch program that picked up the "texture.CFG" folder and over-wrote that texture through the entire aircraft folder (whoops). 60 or so recovered/re-downloaded textures later, problem solved, and an important computer lesson learned, lol. It was kind of funny seeing an airport where every 767-300 PW was Condor....

Thank you for doing that so quickly! It's gonna take me a while, but I think as I go back and start re-coding flightplans for MSFS in the near future as it becomes clear which models will work and all that, I'll add in the repaint links for everything you're doing now. Appreciate your hard work! Lots of late 90s airports incoming soon. Damn, too bad that DC-9 doesn't work with the old textures. I'd thought it was just an upgrade like what they did to the 727 where the textures all still work, I guess not. Would have solved a lot of painting issues for a while.

Sadly, the forum attachment limit is exceeded again. I have already had Christian delete all of my threads except for two, and I have deleted the first thirty pages of screenshots from this one, but it's not enough. I've tried linking the pictures from my Google drive, but that doesn't work either, it just prompts for a download. So, I have completed the DLH baby 'Buses (you'll have to take my word for it, lol), four variants each for 319/320/321 from pre-SA and SA 1990s era; and I am moving on to the next part of this project. There will also be some more new converted models, plus a lot of new paints, in my drive by Sunday or so.

The 732s are done, another 18-variant set, including a lot of the early schemes, three UEFA variants (afl should be very happy), two metal Condor leases (with different tail logos), the 1988 yellow experiment, LH Express, and one freighter. I did my usual "I don't really like the colors I picked" thing, and changed the blue to something that will be global across the entire fleet I am doing, plus an update to my original FAIB 747s (in HD). A300s, A310s, 727s, and 707s should finish things up.

20 serials for the A300s, including LH/DE (14x LH, 6x DE). I'm going to push tomorrow (today) to sort out the A310s, and then put everything in this paint cycle in the drive. A large collection of DLH, CFG, and LTU paints should be available by tomorrow evening. I will finish up the earlier period stuff (727s, 707s, Caravelles (LTU), F27s (LTU) in the near future. There was a flurry of work color-matching the fleet, and I went back and did HD upgrades for my original FAIB 747/767 packages, plus I updated my FAIB A342s and added A343s (311s and 313s). If I have anything left in the tank tomorrow, I will do my own MD-11s, I think they're only done for the UTT model. :{) Previews (the best I can do, they won't embed): A340-200 LH, 9 variants drive.google.com/file/d/1loq-GqYJZh2gmTbb1DRALd5iMrcwVdGw/view?usp=sharingA340-300 LH, 8 variants drive.google.com/file/d/1llLS2IrvDTcWbKJ0VmoPDTzDFJ2L2op3/view?usp=sharingA300B2/B4 & A300-600 LH/DE, 20 variants drive.google.com/file/d/1lg85bhyyTjN2c0A6FBRV_preH7r9vctW/view?usp=sharing
