Those KAL 74s look wonderful! Was hoping someone would do them, and it appears you beat Brian to the punch. Will go very nicely with his 74SP

There's no beating allowed here, end of story. Brian and I do our things and occasionally collaborate, but he is a phenomenal artist, and I am merely a repainter, that's the way of it. I believe what he does in his real life gives him the technical expertise to produce pretty flawless work, and we should all be grateful for that.
I will be doing the Super Pigs, and 300s, and 400s. I tried to color-match my 70s paints to Brian's, so people can choose what they want in their FS world. In the end, I just want a fleet that all goes together.
Ranmori's paints are also tremendous, but are restricted for the 1995-forward era (yin-yang engine stickers), and don't have variants with the 1996 "FIFA World Cup 2002" stickers.
Also, KAL operated some other freighters than the standard 2B5-series, such as the -249F/SCD with full upper deck windows. KAL also operated a 2S4F/SCD which was pretty much identical to their 2B5F/SCD, but I included the 2S4 in my paint run. Then, there is the early 2B5B/SF HL7454 that still had all of its windows, and then a whole different final window config from its sister-ship HL7458. I try to pick up little things like that.

The JAL Group paints (747, 767, 777, MD-11) have all been updated for the 1990s scheme stripe color adjustment and are available on the drive. I went through about 100 747 and other KAL pictures from 1987-1988 and didn't find any 747s (or DC-10s) wearing the 1988 Olympic sticker. However, the sticker appears on other types in the fleet (727, F27, A30B, and MD-82). So, on a leap of faith and a SWAG, I did one 743 variant with the sticker (and 2 742s for that package). HL7480 (the 743 Combi) didn't arrive to the fleet until the end of August 1988, after the Olympics, so no sticker for it. Photos have just been updated to reflect the very light grey engine cowlings on the -400s, I missed that on the first pass (tired eyes, lol). These should be on the drive by Sunday. :{)

Back in the day, I think every 777-300 was named after a constellation and every MD-11 after a bird, with the bird painted on the winglets (hence the "J-bird" nickname). It would be a lot of work for the MD-11s (not the 777s as few were there in the 90s), but it would be pretty damned cool. I have plans for those, but in the meantime..... View Attachment View Attachment... after the 32-serial run for the JAL Cargo 741/742, the 744F looks kind of anti-climactic, lol. The 742F package covers the -100SF, -200BSF, -200F, and -200F/SCD. Unless my eyes are gone, the first -246F didn't have an SCD, like the early DLH freighters. If anybody disputes that, I will update the package. Both of the freighter packages are on my drive now. I currently have no plans to do anything beyond about 2005, and no special liveries other than the ones I did on original paint runs. There are P3Dv4/5 conversions of all AIA non-winglet 767s and all AIA 747s in my G-drive, so any AIA paints which have been done for those models can be brought into the 64-bit world. :{) Amazing work Mike! Are you going to paint the 747-400BCF from Jal Cargo? www.airliners.net/photo/Japan-Airlines-JAL-Cargo/Boeing-747-446-BCF/4286757/L?qsp=eJwtjDEOwkAMBP/imoIQQZEufAAKPmD5VuSkIznZLoii/B3nRDea0e5GssyOr7/WChrIwCoTnaiy8sdo2Iizljwfsb%2Bcr100W9Tva4jEjlEE1ZH%2B/qEJeiSYtJt3LLsA6LMx9bfwKVst3D7gnAvt%2Bw%2BDyy0C

I don't intentionally plan to paint anything beyond 2000-ish, but since JAL Cargo has been defunct as a separate freighter fleet since around 2010, and I have the master textures done, I may consider this one.

I did some of these for the DWAI models about 12 years ago, here is something more modern for the NAAI model. :{)

Side note; did you see on AIG that now some AI models are converted to MSFS? Now that AI Flightplanner can convert flightplans to MSFS format and some planes are done, I'll just have to verify how/if the textures need to be converted and then release some MSFS versions of the 1998 airlines that can be fully displayed with the currently converted models when I get some time. Finally bought a copy of it, played it a lot at friends' houses and stuff but it just feels like a VERY realistic looking game...but a game not a sim even tho everything is "there", at least in the default trashy airliners. For GA flying, might be the best sim ever. Hate how the default planes all have ridiculous glass panels tho with something like the "max" tech set up possible rather than the standard .

Is this actually possible or did they bork it with SU6 again? Jokes aside, that seems quite promising

P3Dv4/5 is far superior as a flight simulator. You nailed it, MSFS is a game for gamers, not so much a flight sim for the hardcore. That being said, the graphics are absolutely eye-popping and jaw-dropping, but what's the use if you are stuck with some of the most hideous default AI traffic models ever made? I'm supposed to post on my Facebook account that I unlocked the achievements of cold-starting an A320 or engaging with ATC? Whoohoo..... I'll say what I said about FS9 about ten years ago, with regard to P3Dv4/5, I'll use it until the OS doesn't support it any more.
Anyways, I got hung up in the real world this week, on a small home improvement project. In between demo, drywall, and paint, I am picking away at KAL. I am re-doing my fleet that I did about 12 years ago. I have the A300s and 722s done (version 2), and will be throwing in some other things as well. The CPAI F.27-500, the FMAI F.28-4000, and FSPX 777s are coming, plus updates of my previous work for this airline.

KAL 777s..... a good start to a football Sunday.... The following KAL files have been posted on my drive: FAIB 747-200/300/400 KAL and KAL Cargo NAAI 707 KAL and KAL Cargo, I added two 320B paints to the original eight FSPX 777-200/300 KAL TFS A300 KAL version 2, has KAL and KAL Cargo, A30B and A306 variants, 16 paints :{)

I've added some more KAL files, all of the T-tails.... MD-8x, 10 serials, I removed the old files from the G-drive 727-200, I also removed the old files. Brian did the early 80s 722 paint, so no need for me to re-do this one. F100 and F28-4000 ... and the CPAI F27-500, again, Brian did the early 80s paint for that aircraft. The KAL 727s are near and dear to me, as I have flown in one or more of them a few times. The only annoying thing is that I found another sticker, Visit Korea '94, which I have included on the MDs, and will have to go back and update some of the other paints in the near future. Here are some pictures.... :{)

Last one for tonight.... I really got the mileage out of just two serials with this one, lol. Brian did the 1980 scheme, so again no need to replicate that one. On to MD-11s (pax/freighter) and YS-11s (early 70s), and some small tweaks and additions here and there to what has already been painted, and this airline will be done. :{)

A bit of global corrections and some additions to the following KAL packages: 707-3B5C HL7406, added the last year of service, 1987, with the 1988 Olympic sticker. Aircraft destroyed by mid-air bombing late 1987, 115 souls RIP All pax 742/3/4 had too bold of nosegear numbers for the 1984 (blue) livery, corrected Visit Korea '94 sticker variants added to all pax aircraft classes (747, A300) Additional stickered aircraft (mostly Combis) added for appropriate years. All mentioned packages have updated repaint counts (increased) and config files. All of these are updated on the G-drive, and I also added the KAL Super Pigs, and these..... :{)

Here's a jump-start to a revised THA fleet. I will be re-doing my original 742/743 THA FAIB paints in HD, plus the 744s that I never got around to. The Royal Barge paint is photo-real, and kind of crappy resolution, but short of hand-drawing the boat (beyond my skill), this will have to do. These screenshots are revised from when originally previewed earlier this morning. :{)
