Hi all, For those still compiling their timetable data using the MRAI Compiler, Don has recently updated his AI Flight Planner program to improve the compiling ability. It often now results in better flight plans than the MRAI Compiler and previous versions of AIFP. The best version so far is the last development version, 3.2.03(f). A discussion of the improvements here: www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/creating-flight-plans-from-timetable-data-testing.438839/Enjoy,

Unfortunately, I am not registered on that forum. Can I ask two questions here? 1. In that times in Eastern Europe, USSR, China and some other countries there was a metric flight level system. From FL020 for General aviation to FL658 for supersonic jets. Until today I'm making my changes to the Flight plans manually. Can this program put the FLs not randomly, but according to the user's discretion? 2. Where I can download it?

Thanks in advance. Kind regards. Stefan

One more question: if there's a problem with the amount of arriving and departing aircraft; will it be easier to solve it with AIFP 3? I read the manual, but couldn't find a sufficient answer. :/
Kind regards.

Somehow the fleet count with MRAI is closer to reality than AIFP 3. Maybe I'm mistaken and oversaw something.
Kind regards.

I think that reading Timetable Data File of AIFP 3 is incomplete or has a bug. Various discussions are done at the AIG Forum.
Time difference etc of airportDB.txt is a little troublesome, For now, the MRAI compiler is more reliable.

Hi,
You can modify already compiled schedules; it has an editing capability.
It can automatically add deadhead schedules to the flight plan to fix mismatched numbers of departures and arrivals.
How you set up the parameters with AIFP can make a large difference in how many aircraft are generated.
Compiling the same flight plans using the latest version of AIFP3 and the MRAI Compiler generally give me virtually identical flight plans. Thus the advantage for AIFP3 will be for those flight plans it can handle better than MRAI - plans with more than 100 legs, mismatched arrivals/departures, etc.

PS. I don't see any mention of the AIFP3 compiling problems at the AIG forums. Link to thread?
Thanks,

Well, I tried it with a new version of Taiwanese flightplans. While MRAI gave me only two 74F aircraft, I was given five with AIFP 3. It may be because it's mostly on the US-ANC-TPE and return flights due to the dateline, but the schedules are correct, cleared of errors and checked for inconsistencies regarding days of operation before and after ANC.
I'll not let go trying and trying, but for now I guess it's better to stick with MRAI and simply bring them to FSX standard via AIFP.
Kind regards.

Welp, I feel like a fool just reading this thread now. Thank you, Tom! Hopefully this will produce better results for some of the plans I am working on.

Hi,
I still use the MRAI Compiler since I'm comfortable with it. But if it has problems, I try compiling with AIFP3, which sometimes gives me better results. But sometimes they're worse. You just have to try it.
