I can imagine why and yet I wonder what prevented them from painting the fuselage in white. I like it - great job! Kind regards. Stefan

I don't get it either - I heard they're claiming it has to do with composite materials, but that sounds like a lot of bull-crap. Seriously.

Already found an error I am gonna correct - lower stripe, at the front of the aircraft, was thinner than the upper stripe at the same point.

They've got their entire fleet in grey already. Why make an exception for a mere retrojet? The livery would've looked better on an A319 though. The stubby nose is much more reminiscent of the DC-9s that used to wear the livery.

They're repainting the retrojet's anyway, why not paint them white to go with the liveries? They look dumb in grey. I have never seen any other carrier do a retrojet but paint the plane the wrong color. AA is just being lazy(cheap) and swapping decals on planes.

I will admit, the AirCal retro jet actually looks fairly good with the grey fuselage paint. The grey paint seems to make the stripes jump out more.
