I just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who contributes to the world of RetroAI and the excellent work that each of you do. For the last two years, I remained in the background implementing your excellent paints, flightplans and aircraft to my world of AI. I only recently joined the RetroAI Discussion board. I am not a painter, nor do I have the ability to make excellent flight plans like you have provided. I am, however, an avid enthusiast of what flying was like in the Seventies and how that era molded my passion for the airline industry that I still hold onto today (I am a Flight Attendant of 21 years and still LOVE the job as much now as the day I started!). I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your hard work during your spare time to bring Retro Flightsim enjoyment to so many others. I don't think you hear this enough from those others, and even my thanks is long overdue. Each time you provide a download for us it is like a gift. Thank you very much for all the "gifts" you have provided over the years! Best regards, Greg in Phoenix

Hi Greg, I'm not a painter, either. I did find, however, that compiling flight plans is not difficult at all. It can be tedious at times but it is not difficult using the MRAI compiler. As you can see, I have learned it well enough to contribute several sets if flightplans. I'd encourage you to give it a try! Andy

Hi Greg, many thanks for your feedback. Jason is right, this place is different. I also agree with Andy, nothing is really hard to do. I still have problems with flight planing and painting some special paintschemes sometimes, but everything can be learned.

Hey Greg, thanks for the kind words. Been a while since I have participated here, but it is nice to see how much the enthusiasm and participation has increased. I never thought it would get this popular.

Funny I just thinking of saying a big THANK YOU! to everyone here, for all the help you have given me recently. For the last few years, I have been taking care of sick family members, and now things have finally settled down in my life, in which I can finally go back and set the FS "Way Back" or as Tennesee Tuxedo used the do 3D-BD up and relive my youth. Your quick response great & expertise is vast. So once again THANK YOU ALL! And Kris THANK You & Bless You, for saving this site when it appeared that it might be lost. So lets let's put on some Tie-Dyed shirts, bell bottomed pants, shake out our long hair, hang our love beads on, and let's "Groove" back to the late 60's early 70's, Man!

Hi Greg. We all like it here and so far everyone is well behaved Airlines might have gone from real life, but we have brought them back for our own enjoyment. Marc. Nice to see that you are still around. Do you like what we have done to your old place ;D Paul

Hi,
I'm glad you enjoy the site. I've been fairly ill over the past few months, but am getting better - so you'll be seeing more and more updates very soon. I, too, kind of live in the 1970's that's when I also became fascinated with aviation. I was always a groundling - can't pass a medical to be a pilot and I briefly toyed with becoming an FA with a regional, just so I could get into the air - but, alas, I was too tall for the types they had at the time. It was Comair, actually, and the CRJ, I just came in under the limit, but I had to be able to work all types, so the Brasilia was my killer. But, before going into IT, I worked security, ramp rat, topsider, freight operations, res agent, tariffing agent, that eventually led into becoming a travel agent and my developing an idea of online travel agencies - but before we could really get the idea going, Travelocity shows up, with direct access to the customer of the databases like SABRE, where we were selling an interactive idea in which ou went online, talked to an agent in real-time (kind of like an IM or IRC) interface and they would take your requests and let you know what was available. Bad timing, I guess. From there, I went into IT full-time and have been there ever since. I'd like to get back to the airlines, this time in IT - I'll take the standby perks just to fly around for a day! In recent months, though, I have seriously thought of getting my dispatch license and see what comes of that. Until then, I'll just have to live in my retro world, and that's not bad at all.
BTW, good to hear from you Marc, how are things?

I never thought it would get this popular. Been a while for me too. I never thought something like this would even get off the ground especially after I was first chased away from MRAI forum. ;D BTW, Marc probably won't be doing too well if he's read this... www.oldwings.nl/content/n898at/n898at.htm Oh well, just one less reason to model one.

Doing great - thanks for asking Kris. How have you been? How is the health?
Henry: the Carvair crash was a sad one. The captain is a close friend of mine and the fact he and his co-pilot are alive is all that matters. I put that airplane in my logbook several times the past couple of years - what an animal. How have you been?

Nice to see some of the old hands around again. Hi Henry, How's the Pipers coming?? After spending a small fortune I have two BAF timetables so old "big head" will make its AI appearance one day!! Lucky that fuel never went up! Marc. What really pissed me off many years ago was this. www.airliners.net/open.file/1084745/L/ The last Carvair in the UK being broken up, a crime that is repeated far to often. N707PA, N8008D,N1011, F-BHHH etc etc all historic aircraft that are no more!! Shep, you old beach bum! ;D Still waiting for your metallic textures and more TI!! When you coming back?? This place has a life all of its own. None of the muck slinging of other places and everyone is willing to lend a hand. Its fun here (As we are all as mad as one another!!) Paul

Henry: They were lucky indeed. The fact they were in the Carvair helped though since the load, when shifted upon impact, can escape out the front. In the DC-4/6/7, the load comes flying forward tearing through the forward bulkhead and can kill the crew or block their escape.
Paul: I would still like to see Big Head in the AI world as well. Wishful thinking I guess.
