Hi All.
Just finished TWA Spring 1963 so it will start testing soon.
I have to check on the scheme used then so you might find a re-paint request soon.
Right, better get Air Europe ready for Uploading.

Hi,
TWA started to use the twin globe scheme on the jets in approximately mid-1962, so I assume you would have a mix of old and new schemes. I don't think any 749's were repainted yet though.
Looking forward to it!
Hope this helps,

Looking forward to it! Hope this helps, I have to agree, I don't recall seeing any photos of a Connie in the twin-globe scheme dated before 1965. In fact, I think some were retired in the late '60's still wearing the 1950's twin-stripe scheme. I could be wrong, I'm going strictly from memory and don't have the ability to browse airliners.net until I get home, but I'm pretty sure the Connies, those that did get repainted, weren't done until the middle part of the '60's. They were relegated to secondary routes by then, so not high on the priority list of an always financially troubled airline.

Looking forward to it! Hope this helps, Hi Tom. A search on Airliners.net produced the same information. The L-749's and L-1049s were in the old colours. The CV-880 were in both along with the 707-131, 331, where the 707-131B and 331B were all in the globe scheme. Loads of Connie's in this schedule with the jets only on the European routes. The Starliners was still used on all the European cargo routes though!! I like the way the timetable has two sets of plans for the same flights to Europe. One with a stop at SNN if there was head wind on the return flight!! ;D Those were the days!! Thanks for the info Tom. Paul

Going by Airliners.net all the retained L-749s seemed to have the twin globes, but the L-1049 seemed to only have a few with the globes, the rest were in the twin stripes. Once the 727 was introduced, the L1049s were retired fast. The L-749s lasted until replaced by the DC-9-10, which was quite a few years later. Anyway enjoy TWA 1963 when it is released. Paul
