Hey All! I tough it would be fitting to start my Retro AI journey where my actual Airline carrier began. 19 years old with my very first job as a ramper for America West Airlines at their Columbus, Ohio hub in December 1993!! I got to REALLY play with planes!! The freezing cold temps and one of the worst winters in decades on the East coast couldn't slow me down!! Ironing out the kinks on flight plans from Dec 1991...almost done and would love to be able to post here!! The Aircraft went up today on Flightsim.com/Avsim.com THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH for all the help and advice!! Enjoy

Awesome paints!! I, too, began with AWA in 1993 in the field station of DFW. After a transfer to Phoenix, and going to inflight in 1995, I am still there today.
Even though we now call ourselves "US Airways" with the merger back in 2005 - the America West spirit is still strong with the Phoenix employees.
Were you with AWA in Columbus in February 1999 when the Airbus A320 (N628AW) came in with the sideways nosegear and evacuated with the slides on Runway 28L?
I was one of the crewmembers on that flight! I will always grateful to the America West staff of Port Columbus that day who came through with flying colors for our passengers and our crew after that nail-biting incident!

Thanks!! Glad you like them!! Hp has always had a real special place in my heart. As the matter of fact My high School year book says I was "Moving to PHX to work for AWA as a Pilot!" I Didn't quite make the Pilot thing work out as I am currently a Flight Attendant..pretty close though!! I went on to work in PHL and ABQ for HP and left in 1996 to begin flying as a German speaker for The then USAir and there I remain!! Can you believe it!! Things have come full circle!! I still hold that special place for HP and just wish we could all get along and merge already! Happy Flying!

P.S. Way to go on a perfect and safe evac!! Heard all about it from many of my friends who were still there! It's a shame so many of them are gone now. I'm sure it was an experiance to remember! Who knows....maybe one day we'll even fly together !!

Good stuff!
I had great memories flying on my first 737-300, a brand spanking new N154AW with America West back in 1987. I also caught a ride on one of their 'new' 747's a couple years later. Nineteen dollars one way PHX-LAS!
Best regards....Duncan
