OK... Here I am Back again! I've done some work with excel for MRAI and with AIFP. What I was wondering was if I enter my flight plans with excel do they have to be entered following one specific aircraft's daily flights or can they be entered just as they are right out of a timetable with different aircraft assigned to them as i go??? I haven't gotten far enough to try and enter them in MRAI so I don't know how it works but don't want to do all the DATA entry having done it wrong. I have made small plans using AIFP but it seems like they would take forever following one specific aircrafts 24 hour movements. Break it to me easy....
Excitedly awaiting more info...gAbe ;D

Just as they are right out of the timetable is fine. You have to make sure you are only entering non-stop flights, otherwise you'll drown in duplicate segments and will run out of patience way before the end of the timetable MRAIC will sort everything out by itself... almost.

Straight out of the timetable is the way to go. You will end up with something this this. Once finished, save as a CSV and open in notepad or wordpad. Change all the , to ; and you end up with this. Run it through the MRAI compiler, fix all the problems and you will get something like this. I have separated out the individual aircraft and added the reg and AC number. Getting it to compile can cause you to go bald ;D, so don't be afraid to ask for help if you get stuck. Good luck! Paul

Thanks SO much!! That is all such a huge help! All the examples are great! As for me....two of my timetables just arrived from e-bay so I'm off to type till my fingers bleed!! And to think if I only knew where I put that box FULL of them from back in the day! Maybe I can go looking in my folks attic and see if I can find them! HAHA!! Hope I can have some thing good to contribute soon!!
Thanks again gAbe :-)

ALL RIGHT!! Now that was some serious data entry!! No better way to spend a couple hours of mindless crew break I must say!! Sure made time fly!! HAHA Anyway...I have another little question. I've entered everything and fed it through the MRAIC. I fixed all the inconsistancies with the exception of these....
Using 733, there are 385 flights arriveing and 383 flights departing KLAS (LAS) Using 732, there are 199 flights arriveing and 184 flights departing KLAS (LAS) Using 320, there are 88 flights arriveing and 95 flights departing KLAS (LAS) Using 733, there are 63 flights arriveing and 57 flights departing KLAX (LAX) Using 733, there are 465 flights arriveing and 466 flights departing KPHX (PHX) Using 732, there are 335 flights arriveing and 350 flights departing KPHX (PHX) Using 320, there are 151 flights arriveing and 144 flights departing KPHX (PHX)
Now the PHX/LAS extras are due tho the cities being hubs I guess. The LAX one I really can't figure out??? I went on and made the FlightPlans and it worked for the most part with the exception of a few AC's that were kind of left hanging somewhere with no where to go. I had to deleate them in order for the flight plans to compile but is there any way around that???
In all I can't wait to get this little work of art posted. Working on repaints now and awaiting some more GREAT tips!!
Thanks AGAIN!!

Hi gAbe. Missed this post!! OK, the way around deleting flights is normally to add "ghost" flights once you are sure that the entered info is correct and that you can't make it work by adding an extra flight or two. Sometimes making the flights daily will do the trick. Failing that.... Add ghost flights. These are mostly run at night so they are not seen. Here is an example from my Carnival flight plans. There were 4 less 727 flights departing from BQN, and 3 less arriving at PSE and 1 less at EWR. So extra flights were added between the destinations as seen in yellow above. It does not matter that they might not do this route as you are just evening up the flights. More often than not, you can just delete them if one specific aircraft is tasked for that flight. As an example in your plans. The A320 is simple to sort out. Just add a weekly flight something like this. US 10011 PHX LAS 00:30 add correct arrival time here 1234567 320 That will clear up the A320 error. Do the same for the 737 using real routes as much as possible. If you still have problems, PM me and I'll help you out off board. Paul
