I tend to like seperate paints for individual aircraft, especially for airline fleets that had individual aircraft names (ie Pan Am, National, or Laker). Will an AI aircraft with a couple of hundred of texture files drag down your system? Even high end systems?
I ask because I just did a set of textures for the six plane Garuda DC-10-30 fleet. Its cool to run into specific aircraft on my AI travels such as PK-GIE which was destroyed at Nagoya, Japan in 1996 in an aborted takeoff.
But if this eats up too much resources I guess I'll have to stick with generic no registration AI.

There is no "limit" - only what your video card and frame rates can accept. If you start having textures drop out (i.e. gray planes) then you've done too many. Hope this helps,

Sometimes when I slew up to an airport I get lots of grey planes till the computer 'catches up'. But so far I've had good luck while flying. I guess I'll keep adding textures till I hit the ceiling!
Thanks.
