Ok as promised, BCAL and Saudia are posted... However... Ever had one of those days where you start off doing one thing and end up doing everything??? Well funny thing.. I couldn't find an ARNZ Concorde paint for the "British" Red Tail scheme... soooo: But then I couldn't find the HS748 either... And then i wanted a RR AND PW powered 747 matching set... Then it was a 707: And well... things just took their course... So those are posted too ;D

What about a Nord 262? I'm not sure when exactly Allegheny began the color transition from the blue scheme to the triple red, but I know it was sometime in the latter part of the middle '70's. I have photos of the DC-9-50 in delivery colors and a Nord in a book that is dated 1978, so I'm guessing 1977-78 for the transition. I think I may have a Shorts as well, I have to check - so much sorting through books and 10 years' worth of "Airways" and "Airliners"... I've been working on some earlier AC schedules - hence my comments about them - and have started work on the callsigns, since all the AC operators used their own callsigns. So that means Henson, Ransome, Southern Jersey, Suburban, Command, and that oddball that flew to Mansfield, OH that flew the Herons - I forget their callsign, but IIRC, it's the name of the town they were based in, not Fischer Brothers Aviation, their corporate name.
BTW, I have earlier BA planes - with the full titles - 747, 707 (pax and cargo), Trident, 1-11, and the BEA transition planes - Trident, 1-11, Viscount, Vanguard. Not to mention the BOAC transition VC-10s and full-scheme VC-10s - the latter groups are just mods of existing paints, not fully mine. So, I need permissions to release those. I'd like that generic truck texture - I have the AF Concordes flying, as BA started operations to the States later, and that would be much nicer than the default ones. I try to stay with operations no later than 1976-77, with some fudging here and there - but no later than US Deregulation in 1978, though I may break that rule with AS '79 just so I can have Alaska flying.

like i said, if anyone has a model for a Nord 262, ill gladly paint it. The only 262 available is a major frame killer.

Call sign for Fisher is Galion correct named after a city in OHIO That's right! I knew I'd remember it as soon as someone said it. IIRC, they flew Cleveland to Mansfield under the AL code, then on to Galion under their own name.

Greetings. I enjoy reading this forum as I have lots of fond memories of the 70's and early 80's, hanging out at KMIA and KFLL as a teen-ager. This question is going to seem like something out of left field, but since the topic touched on Fischer Brothers Aviation in Mansfield, Ohio, maybe one of you guys might know the answer to this long-unanswered question. I have an old OAG dated 9-1-78 and it shows SEVEN week-day round-trip flights between Galion (GQQ) and Mansfield (MFD) using a DeHavilland Heron. Even stranger is that the fare is ONE DOLLAR!!! (The class is U=No reservation service) It couldn't be even 20 miles between these two towns. Could anyone shed any light on what this service was all about? This is definitely a question for an airline trivia fan. Thanks for keeping this forum going.

This is definitely a question for an airline trivia fan. Thanks for keeping this forum going. My understanding, and I may be wrong, was that Fischer Brothers started as an FBO in Galion and only flew the planes to and from there for maintenance. IOW, the money was in the Cleveland-Mansfield route and they picked up whatever paying passengers, mail, and cargo for Galion because the planes were going to be headed there anyway. That was pretty common in the pre-deregulation days, as airlines were subsidized back then, the government guaranteed them a fee even if nobody flew on the flight. The end of that is why so many small cities lost regular airline service.

You have a point, I need to stop thinking of my 3-gig machine that seems to handle everything without flinching. I ran that flyable Nord on my laptop, a paltry 1.6-gig, and it sucked up some major FPS with all my AI installed.

I did a test with it, with only 2 of them on the ground in PIT, my frames were half what they were without them (8-10FPS with, 20FPS without)... And my PC isn't a lightweight either, 3.5ghz, 1.5GB of RAM, etc etc... Michael, the Wardair A300 had titles reversed on the right side... thats now fixed.
