(changed the name of the thread since it's more of a preview by now) OK - the repaints are done and I'll update this thread once the flightplans are ready I know the "candidate" liveries date from '72, but the "Prospector" was still around in '78 so I did all of them for the '79 schedule. The flighplans will include the option to use all five liveries or just the "smiling Eskimo" Exit runway when able Christian

It's a strange sight to see AS MD-80s and 737s here on the Oklahoma prairie, but it's a frequent one.

AFAIK, the "sunglasses" were on a MD80...
If and when I get my hands on a '80s Alaska timetable, I'll be more than glad to prevent old Chester from going blind (from the sun glare, that is...).
How the **** can you guys have three time zones in a single state!?!?!?

Actually, Ductape lives in Portland, OR - there's an ongoing in-joke on the Cal Classic board about the day he shut the power off in a concourse at Portland International. There's also a second inside joke about Horizon flying planes over Jason's house in Camas, WA, just up the river from PDX. Then there's the third inside joke that started when I said that the Queen of Camas, Tonya Harding, wasn't that bad looking - I've never lived that down. And then there is the whole thing about Da Yoopers, deer camp, rusty Chevrolets and Herman... I guess Paul was right after all, this is a nuthouse.

Hey I resemble all those remarks.... ;D Kris: BTW: I am now off the hook about the lights. Last week during the height of Spring Break loads, a Port Plumber jackhammered right through the feeder conduit for the "A" Concourse, and shut down QX OPS for 95 mins. He's lucky he didn't get lit-up. I did go and stand next to the Port's Jerky Chief Electrical Engineer as he was looking in to the hole, and shot him a ton of Smack.... Also keep your eyes open for some refugee Dash8-Q200 "white tails" going through down there, as they are on their way to NY, for CommutAir. We have only 2.... Of course between Eugene, & the Coast anything goes there when the "Magic Mushrooms" are in season. Also I am a Yooper, and proud of it, so that right there qualifies me as a nut case. I have been linked to several ill conceived plots to get rid of the Mackinac Bridge and free the UP from Trolls. I did know the Chester in his Sunglasses was a MD-80, but almost every promotional photos you see laying around corporate from circa 1980 has the 727's & MD-80 all those schemes in them. The "Miner" also made it on a CV-240 tail.

Exit ruwnay when able Christian It's on the other computer, so it will be a while until I can get to it, but I have an Excel spreadsheet of a '73 AS timetable with the CV-240 and a Grumman Goose. The only problems with it is that it came from the OAG, so some flights don't have a listed destinations and the Goose flights are mostly to seaplane bases that don't exist in FS.

?? I' never seen an Official Airlines Guide - could you please clarify? Thanks in advance It's a giant compendium of schedules, though some gaps exist versus timetables - it may be destinations or equipment. In AS' case, it's mostly destinations - these are probably flag stops, since no arrival/departure is given on some legs, meaning they probably did not always stop - they'd fly over, and if pasengers or cargo were waiting, they'd land - if not, they'd go on. This was common on the LSA's in the US through the 1960's - and AS appears to be one of the last holdouts. Another prominent appearance of such things is the Allegheny Commuter System, but there it's not so much where and when they flew, but who flew the routes. And compiling the confusion, not every segment flown by a Commuter carrier flew under the AL code - making it hard to figure out how the planes got back to their origin, which is needed to work within the FS AI code. It's not something that can't be worked around, but it makes it real hard to be completely accurate.

The "Miner" also made it on a CV-240 tail. During the move, I discovered a box of tapes in storage, and Da Yooper's "Culture Shock" is among them - as soon as I get a decent tape player again, I'll have to fire that up. I haven't seen any Dash-8-200s yet, though for a long time, the entire Air Wisconsin fleet of "Doinkers" was parked here. I think those all came from Mountain Air Express, none were QX birds. I could be wrong on that, though.
