Hi All. I almost have my colour matched and improved Northwest Orient fleet for 1982. The 747-200F is in the paint shop right now and I need sun glasses to look at her ;D Thanks to Jason who kick started me on this with his improved metallic 727 textures, even though I changed them for NW as they were a bit on the light side My good friend from the old Project Freeware days John Keane, supplied the Logo and the colours are matched to his 707s at HJG. The metallic textures are matched (sort of) to the 707s as well so when you fly among the AI birds you are not the odd one out at KMSP!. Here are a couple of quick screenies so you can see what I have been up to. Since the 747 picture was taken I have changed the metal colour on some panels to the photos I used so all the repaints have sections in different colour metal, like the DC-10. OK, time to get back the the freighter 747. Paul

;D looks Great Paul! Don't forget Nyrop did not believe in clean planes....NW had THE Dirtyiest fleet around! (that being said the tails seem a bit clean)When I worked for NWA in 88 we would sometimes have to remove layers of dirt to perform inspections! I cant' wait to plug these into the 70s and 80s worlds I fly in Stan

Why do those parts that hang down underneath the flaps, on the underside of the wing, have different colors on them? Silver and then parts of it are dark gray?

Why do those parts that hang down underneath the flaps, on the underside of the wing, have different colors on them? Silver and then parts of it are dark gray? Hi Harry. Its due to not having a DC-10-40 paint kit. I just hacked the 30 paint kit to do the repaint, but some of the mapping is completely different so I ended up adding (bodging!) things to make it work. For the life of me I cannot see on the texture where this bit of not needed paint is getting onto the flap canoes. I guess its a mapping issue, but I'll go through it again before I release it. Its better than no matched DC-10 ;D Paul

I can turn the grime layers back on if you want and release a dirtier version as well if you like. All Well they are all going through testing to see what errors I have put in. Only found two so far and one was some white bleed through on the upper DC-10 engine lower right. Again it's a mapping issue but more red paint has fixed that. Here is a shot of the freighter. Fresh out the paint shop and the fuselage has also been rubbed down and polished (sorry Stan ;D). And a closer one of the 727-200 for Elliot. I have now turned my attention to American!! Paul

I have only used ACM for setting up new models or adjusting the sit of old ones. I'll look into that when I get home later, the dreaded weekly shop now ;D Paul

I know what you are talking about, LOL.
I work with UV maps on every repaint I do, I paste them as a layer with low opacy on top and it helps a lot seeing all the outlines of the parts.

Just to add, try using AVM for aligning paint on multiple mapped parts and for checking the results, works great! I could not paint without it anymore. Ralf

Hi. Finally, some great looking NWA paints. Only one thing, did NWA have 74M´s? Because the 747 on the last picture in the starting thread appears to be having a SCD. Also, would it be possible to create one 747 with 10, one more with 6-8 and a last version with 3 upper deck windows? This would let them appear to be -100 (early and later versions) as well as -200 versions. It´d be great, if it was possible. Kind regards. -STEFAN-SUN_KING-
