Dear all. Since many of our files are on avsim and we all got used to uploading them there, I thought it appropriate to inform you that Avsim founder Mr. Tom Allensworth has passen away. My sincerest condolences and may he rest in peace. www.airdailyx.net/fsnewsbreaker/2015/4/4/tom-allensworth-has-passed-awayMy first steps on the internet took place after purchasing a "PC Pilot" issue, back in late September of 2001. I looked up a link for the famous FFG Spantax DC-10. Thank you for introducing the Flight Sim community to me. I truelly honour your site and efforts. Kind regards. Stefan

I met Tom several years ago while he was on a business trip to Tokyo. He was working for Northrup Grumman at the time. Like me, he was an engineer. We had dinner and drinks together. At that time, HJG was hosted on AVSIM. I enjoyed that evening I spent with Tom, talking about all things in the flight simming world. He was an all right guy. Peace Tom.

Yes, Tom's passing is a tremendous blow to all of us. We have lost some tremendous supporters of our hobby - from Renee Van Biljow of Pan Am and Braniff International VAs, to the utterly senseless murder of PF, HJG, and RAI'e John Keane, to this. But, let it not stop us, we would disrespect them by not carrying forward with the torch they have passed down to us...
