I'm trying to clean up the parking situation of my 90's AI at Indy and I've run into a problem.
I'm using BluePrints KIND, with the Midfield Terminal.
After doing my additions, I've now got planes all over the place.
Specifically, All of my ATA, Northwest, and Delta 727's are across the Airport at the old terminal(There are a few RAMP spots over there) Also, the empty area on the North side of the Airport that was the USPS Sort facility and ramp, I've added Parking spots there and given them parking codes, but only about Half the planes are parking there, the rest are all over the airport.
I'm thinking, it might be radius related, but I don't know where to find the specific info to adjust them to the proper size.

DC-9-15F's are about a 70'-ish radius. (Same for classic 737's.) 727's is an 86' (same for MD's and a 734). DC-8-50's are 90'-ish.
Also, make sure your aircraft have their codes correct with the spots desired. "ATC_Parking_Type=Cargo, Ramp" is good for the USPS fleet along with an assigned code.

You can use AIFP program to determine the parking radius of your aircrafts. You can also use the program to see of You have enough parking for the traffic the airport gets.

I knew AIFP did something with Parking Radius, as it's told me it had no Parking Radius info for some airplanes when I was using it to compile flightplans.

How exactly does radius work? ALL of my spots are well over 100' on the Radius so that shouldn't b an issue, all the parking codes are correct as are Parking types.

The radius is, I believe, the difference from the datum reference point to the edge of the wingtip, tail, or nose, whichever is longest, and is defined in the .air file. If the radius in the air file is more than a parking space, then FS2004 will not place it there.
I suggest looking at the parking types for your spaces and aircraft. Check that for airlines, GATE is specified in the aircraft.cfg fltsim sections. For example,
[fltsim.x] ... atc_parking_types=GATE
Then, on the parking space, select something with GATE in the title, I.E. Gate A xx
You can interchange GATE with RAMP, or CARGO, or have a mixture, for example
atc_parking_types=GATE, RAMP, CARGO
Hope this is helpful. Chris

For FSX, the radius is part of any model files compiled with XToMDL.
Don't forget "atc_parking_codes=" as well. If the repaints do not have these assigned, the planes won't use any gates that do have these codes.

Well, after posing the same question at the AIG Forums, I've fixed my problem.
For some reason, despite the aircraft having the Parking codes and types in their individual fltsim.x entries, when I opened them in AI Aircraft Editor, it showed that they had NO Parking information. Entered the info in the Editor saved, boot up FS9, BAM! everyone is where they are supposed to be.
Now, I'm horrified at the prospect of having to check EVERY.SINGLE.BIRD in my AI Fleet to make sure they're all properly coded.
