Just arrived at Love Field - the old north concourse is GONE! Yet another piece of commercial aviation history to fall to the wrecking ball... Bad enough American obliterated that beautiful 1968 Braniff terminal a decade ago, but the entire north concourse??? Oh, well, at least the Braniff maintenance hangar still stands...

Where will Delta park their stretch-8s and 747s now?? That concourse was SO long....especially if you were going to catch a flight on Frontier which was on the far north end of the North Concourse. Almost took as long to walk to the end of that concourse as it did to fly the Frontier Convair 580 from DAL to Lawton! LOL!

My first flight was on a Frontier CV-580 - OKC to Bartlesville shortly before Frontier abandoned the route. They were the last airline to serve historic Phillps Field, where Wiley Post took off from when he became the first man to fly in the stratosphere. Phillps has a great 1950s terminal, but improvements to highway 75 made Tulsa International only a half-hour away, so the chances of anyone ever serving Phillips again are pretty much nil - there's still a lot of corporate traffic, with ConocoPhillps' Gulfstreams operating what'svirtually a shuttle service to and from Houston.

I recently flew into Heathrow for the first time in 4 years to find the old original red brick terminals being slowly demolished. The fantastic viewing decks went some considerable time ago and hold a lot of memories for me from the 80's and 90's but now it seems the buildings themselves will soon be history too

This is quite an old thread, but more news seems to fit the theme of it. The entire Pan Am terminal at JFK is now gone, leaving the last jet-age terminal at JFK to be the old Northeast-Braniff-Northwest terminal, and also that the Old TWA hangars, the Lockheed Service hangar, and numerous other historic buildings at JFK are now gone. Also, The old red-brick terminal 2 at LHR is now long gone, as is the tower, and terminal 1 is soon to follow as they expand the new terminal 2.

JFK, DAL, LHR, YYZ... all the good old terminals are becoming crushed concrete and scrap metal. All in the name of "progress". And i just realised this is a Zombie thread...
