Been looking for one without luck. Dee's page is down, obviously. There are a number of these birds I'd like to repaint but it's a real bear of a job without a good paintkit. Does anyone know if there's one out there, or have one they could email me?

There's no paintkit that I'm aware of, but Dee's site is not down - Henry brought it back some time ago. htaimodels.com/downloads/dwai/fs_projects/

Thanks for the link. I guess it moved. It was taken down when Dee retired, but demand for the models caused Henry to put it back up at a new location.

Thanks for the link. I guess it moved. It was taken down when Dee retired, but demand for the models caused Henry to put it back up at a new location. Well, thanks. It's a good one to have bookmarked. Actually, the paintkit, while useful, isn't all that necessary with the blank template in Dee's texture set. It's pretty easy to use. If I can figure out how to make a paintkit, that'll make it that much better. I knocked out a complete 1960's JAL 880 this morning in 26 minutes before work. I think that's my new record.

library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004acrp&DLID=50117I thought I remembered doing this stuff before. This paintkit is for the original model. Dee made an updated version of the model dated 12-30-2004. Actually, I notice it says version 3. Whatever the case, the new model has textured windows instead of see-through ones. If you use this paint kit as-is, your windows will be a very distracting green color. If you're familiar with layered paint kits, you could use the updated base texture that comes with the model and transfer the new details to the old paint kit. I just noticed that when I type "coc*pit" it gets changed to "thingypit". Political correctness gone amuck? ;D

It's something in the Proboards coding. Myself, I'm rather un-PC, not easily offended, and I believe most of us are adults who have heard a few choice words in our lifetimes and survived the experience - I never would have selected such an option. I don't have an option, so we get that nonsense. If this stuff keeps going like it is, we'll have Barney the Dinosaur hosting every site. Look, world, I know there's some dirty stuff on the Internet, and if you don't want your kids seeing it, cool - but it's your job as a parent to make sure they don't. It's not mine to censor common phrases so they look like second-grade giggle phrases because you don't want your kid reading them. Trust me, just as you probbably learned George Carlin's "Seven Dirty Words" by the time you were 10, so will your kids - it's called life, deal with it. Your kids will see naked people, they will learn the f-word, and they might drink a beer - it's called life, deal with it. Okay, rant over.
