I have two models installed, one that uses one bitmap (dc862ai2) and another one that uses the "typical" DWAI DC8-62 bitmaps (dc862ai and wings). The first has multiple LOD's, the second one is LOD 1 only.
Is the first one the most recent one?

Yes, as far as I know the multi LOD one is v2.
Not many people seem to have noticed that there are two versions though and you can still see new repaints for v1.

Many thanks for your reply. Does anybody know of a paintkit for v2? Otherwise I think I'll have a new job...

Just to make it more clear. This is the mapping of the old, 1 LOD model:
This is the mapping of the new, 5 LOD's v2 model, available here: htaimodels.com/downloads/dwai/fs_projects/I'll start layering the plain bitmap today.

Yes, I can confirm that the single bitmap, multi-lod model is the most current version (v2). Henry gets the credit for laying out the single bitmap. Dee

The paint kit is done, everything is layered now, some details added. Starting on the "test repaint" now.

I cought a bad flue and things are going slow here. Here's a preview of the -62, PK needs some more details, cargo options and lightmap. Credits: Original master textures by Henry Tomkiewicz, metal textures by Christian Pagé and SAS artwork including the Scandinavian flags by Raul Moino.

Is it possible that a 3rd model exists? That would be one that requires "dc862ai" and "wings" textures too. The Swissair repaint from retroai.proboards104.com/index.cgi?board=repaints&action=display&thread=1198964431works with the model from the paintkit file mentioned in the same thread. That's a "dc862ai" and "wings" texture model. The most repaints i downoaded from avsim (all the 2 tone brannifs, alitalia, lofteidir, jal and sas) have "dc862ai" and "wings" textures but don't work with that "paintkit/swissair" model. Then i have a Finnair repaint that has "dc862ai2" textures and works well with the model from htaimodels.com/downloads/dwai/fs_projects/As a last try i renamed the not working textures to dc862ai2 an then this happened: Regards Jakov

The model that requires both the dc862ai and wings textures is the old v.1 model. That's the one I used for my Alitalia DC-8-62 32-bit textures can CTD on some computer/os/video card combinations (like mine ). I use imagetool (from the FS9 aircraft container SDK - available for free at Microsoft) to systematically de-mip textures and convert them to DXT3

Just converted them back to 32 bit and now they show up correctly. Regards Jakov
