I have begun to install traffic files per decade, having the 70's, 80's and 90's. All are installed as "scenery", for easy switching and misusing FS as a time-machine. Now my question to the scenery gurus:
Is it possible to add airport scenery. and AFCAD files to my Traffic scenery, i.e. the 70's, that would overwrite default AFCAD files? Is it critical to have all add on scenery in one "traffic" folder?

You can add the AFCADs and scenery files to the file for the decade you're using, FS is dumb - it just reads whatever happens to me in the active scenery file - as long as it's a .bgl or AFCAD, it doesn't care where it actually is.

Good. I've wondered about this, too. I assumed it was that way.
Now, who can we get to work on more retro scenery from the 1960s and 1970s?

Many thanks, I installed 3 different Hong Kong sceneries and they all load with the correct traffic decades. That means some work now, but should be well worth.

I've reworked a couple of Tom's AFCADs to remove the "terminal turn" used by propliners and early jets and replaced them with straight-in parking. I'm awaiting his permission to put out a modified Stapleton with 1970's gate placements and added jetways.

Removal of all third party scenery wa the price I paid. I paid it with a smile, because even my preferred sceneries like Spanish Airports by Aerosoft and Frankfurt Mega Hub always destroyd the bubble of retro feeling. Every detail was made to fit today. Old DC8 and modern airport trains look odd.
