Hello again, everybody! I bring you today something quite unusual. I've known of the Northwest A340 for a while now, but it just clicked with me that it absolutely deserves to be painted on something.So, I painted it. Here is the Northwest Airlines A340-300 for the TFS A340-300 model.  It was fun to paint it. I don't expect that anybody would make flightplans for these, but I'm putting it out there anyway. Maybe someone wants some alternate history. Only tested in P3D V5, DDS DXT5 format.

Brian had a paint for that but it was lost sometime long ago. I'd love some alt history plans with the A340 in the 90s. Wouldn't there realistically be a KLM/NWA partnership logo version as well?

NWA had about 20 or so of these on order in the 90s, ostensibly to replace their 747 fleet, sadly NTU.

Continental had orders for A340’s as well. They ended up going with 777’s. Never knew Northwest was in the same boat.

NWA had about 20 or so of these on order in the 90s, ostensibly to replace their 747 fleet, sadly NTU. :{) Mike is correct on this one. Northwest ordered 20 A340-300's with IAE SuperFan engines to be deliverd between 1993 and 1995. The A340's where cancelled due to the fact Airbus only wanted the CFM 56 engines on there A340's and economic fallout of the Gulf War. Northwest also ordered 10 A330-300's to be delivered between juli and december 1994 (I think with PW engines?). On the site of the Northwest Airlines History Center --> Digital Archive --> Aircraft you can find the hole story, plus a interesting A330 picture! Continental placed an order for 10 A330-300's and 10 A340-300's (A300, DC10 and 747 replacement) and TWA ordered 10 Trent powered A330-300's (L1011 replacement). All of which never became reality... |

Lucky to say, I still have the sparks! Midway Airlines Airbus A320-200 for the FAIB IAE model. Looked to see if this repaint existed before making it, but couldn't find one. If there is one that exists... oops? Regardless, here it is. Colors have been matched to the existing AIA Fokker 100 paints by Nathan.  This is the first of my repaints to include an FS9 version of the files. DDS still included. Only tested in Prepar3D V5, FS9 textures included. Download Here

Not sure if it's appropriate for this forum, but (at this time) I have no intention of uploading them elsewhere.   I have painted Laker Airways N832LA "Endeavour" on the CLS DC-10-30, and I also have painted the American Trans Air vacation scheme N186AT on the CaptainSim L-1011. Very cool, thank you for those! I have made some retro flyable liveries as well. Maybe we can have a sticky thread in the repaints section for those, as they are for exploring the RetroAI world.
On a side note, I had the Schabak 1:600 A340s for NWA and Continental as a kid when they were made ahead of the orders that never materialized lol. Same with a TWA A330-300 in the old colors.
