Please forgive me, but I am very intrigued by the thought of operating retro aircraft along with retro ai traffic however, I am unsure on how to get started. This may not even be the right forum. If anyone could be kind enough as to point me in the right direction. Ai models, liveries, etc. \
Cheers.

Good Morning, willwest! Welcome to RetroAI! You have come to the right place. Always feel free to ask questions. May I ask: What era of retro AI are you most interested in? 1960's? 1970's? 1980's? 1990's? 2000's?

Good Morning, willwest ! Welcome to RetroAI! You have come to the right place. Always feel free to ask questions. May I ask: What era of retro AI are you most interested in? 1960's? 1970's? 1980's? 1990's? 2000's? Hey I'm not exactly new here but I am a Lurker and want to get a full Retro AI set up started for P3dv4. I just don't know an easy place to find all the models and flight plans. I know of Av sim etc. but more so mean an easy listing with links etc. The era I am most interested in is mid to late 90s but I also want to get some Iconic airlines that were gone before then up in the air again as well, such as Eastern, PSA, Braniff and Pan Am etc. Any help would be appreciated in pointing me in the right direction. Thanks ahead of time!

I am primarily looking at operating old airlines, current airlines with vintage fleet such as Air Canada and their DC9s along with NWA, some South American airlines too. Also, which ai program is used for these packs? I currently have FLAI for my model matching within VATSIM.

From what I've read, I highly recommend that you just download whatever appeals to you since you set a 30 year range for your AI traffic. If you want a lot of Air Canada DC-9s, install Brian's 1983 plans and his paints. If you want Northwest DC-9s in the grey/red "bowlingshoe" livery, download the 1994 plans. If you want Pan Am, I'd recommend installing any of their mid-late 1980s plans when they had the largest fleet, 1989-1991 if you want the A310/A300s. So just look at what aircraft are used in each year you come across and go from there, knowing you'll have some airlines from the 1970s and some from the 1990s, but whatever makes you happy! As for the repaints, first check Avsim/Flightsim for what you're looking for as a lot of them are there. If they aren't, run the search function through the threads here and see what you find. Other pages with retro repaints include: Ranmori's site, mostly early 1990sBrian's site, mostly 1980sChristian's box account(80s/90s/2000s)Linguistpilot's box account(mostly 1990s)Jason's box accounts which are listed here in his signatureAnd also the link in my signature, though there aren't too many. I made a long but detailed video on installing flightplans on YouTube, I will soon do a more planned out 20 minute version, but it is here if it may help you.

And yeah, welcome to Retroai! I can tell you when I first joined, I didn't know what flightplans I wanted, but now that I'm used to it, I'm having a blast from the past!
