///Continental Micronesia 1998 v2 Continental Micronesia (1968-2017) IATA: CS ICAO: CMI CALLSIGN: AIR MIKE Continental Micronesia Cargo (DHL) (1996-1999) IATA: CS ICAO: CMIC (or DHL) CALLSIGN: AIR MIKE Continental Micronesia was the Guam(GUM) based Pacific subsidiary of Continental Airlines, founded in 1968 with propliners and soon after adding 727s and then DC-10s and other jets. By 1998, only the 747-200s and 727-200s were wearing "Micronesia" titles and the rest of the aircraft were just swapped back and forth from Continental in their full livery. In 1998, Continental Micronesia had 3 747-200s and 16 727s (10 pax+6 cargo), and was also using 4 Continental 757s to cover routes from GUM. The 747s mostly fly between NRT/GUM/HNL and spend their down time at the HNL maintenance base, but they also flew charters to OKJ and SDJ which are represented in these plans. The 727s fly all over the Pacific, serving most every large city in Japan as well as TPE, CNS, and the 7-stop GUM-HNL "milk run", flown twice weekly. The cargo 727s also serve much the the Pacific reaching as far as Australia, and the cargo flightplans are representative based on real destinations. I created arrival and departure banks most days so the planes often arrive back to GUM in the middle of the night around the same time. 3 DC-10-30s were retired in March 1998, I resurrected 2 of them for these plans which mostly serve large Japanese airports, MNL, and HKG. Continental Micronesia would later replace the 727s with 737-700s and 737-800s and the DC-10s with 767-400s up until the 2010 merger between United and Continental Airlines. United decided to gradually end many of the services from GUM, and while United retained GUM as a focus city, the Micronesia division was fully integrated into United Airlines in 2017 and is now operated by United aircraft. Make sure to make a second aircraft.cfg entry for you Continental 757-200 to give it the "AIR MIKE" callsign and "CMI" atc_parking_code. All repaints are completed. The 747-200 is included with the flightplans on Avsim as "Continental_Micronesia_1998.zip", but please use the updated flightplans provided here. ///VARIG 1998 VARIG (1927-2006) IATA: RG ICAO: VRG CALLSIGN: VARIG VARIG was the national airline of Brazil, and the largest airline in South America, as well as one of the oldest. Though based in Rio de Janeiro (GIG) for most of it's history, VARIG was actually initially founded in Porto Alegre(POA) and first flew flying boats. Major expansion did not begin until after WWII, when VARIG took advantage of surplus aircraft like the DC-3 and C-46 and expanded across South America. In 1959, Varig began the "air bridge" high frequency service between Rio's Santos Dumont Airport(SDU) and Sao Paulo's Congonhas Airport(CGH), known as "Ponte Aérea". At one point in history, there would be more daily flights on this route than any route on earth. Initially, this route was operated by Convair 240s and 340s, but once the Lockheed 188 Electras arrived, these aircraft operated the route exclusively from 1975 until 1992. In the mid 1960s, VARIG used 2 DC-8s and it's Electras to launch service to Lisbon, Portugal(LIS) via several stops, and later in the decade flights as far as Miami(MIA) and Japan(HND) would begin. From the 1970s onward, VARIG modernized the fleet with 737-200s doing most domestic and regional routes and larger DC-10s being chosen for the long haul flying. Despite a financial crisis in Brazil in the 1980s, VARIG would expand, adding 747s, MD-11s and 767s to the fleet and adding more international destinations, now competing with VASP and Transbrasil who also ventured into long haul flying. Varig had the same livery from 1955-1996, at which point VARIG launched a new brand image with dark blue and gold colors. Along with Thai, United, Air Canada, and SAS, VARIG became a founding member of the Star Alliance. A 747-300 was painted in the special Star Alliance colors, but it was only for a promo, and it did not fly any revenue flights in these colors. In 1998, VARIG was more or less at it's peak as an airline, but routes and frequencies were starting to be cut, which continued into the 2000s. MD-11s, DC-10-30s, and 747-300s mostly served long-haul routes such as NGO, NRT, LAX, MIA, JFK, MAD, BCN, LHR, CPH, ect, while the 767s did longer South America routes as well as CUN/MEX/JFK/MCO/MIA as well as Spain and Portugal. VARIG's "around the world" GIG-GRU-JNB-BKK-HKG-BKK-JNB-CPT-GRU-GIG flight was flown with an MD-11 at the time, and I have assigned it to the "World Cup" livery MD-11, which means you will not see the aircraft much in Brazil but it will pop up abroad. VARIG flew a ton of "tag on" flights, like LIM-LAX-NRT/NGO, LHR-CPH, MAD-BCN, MIA-MCO, ect, and there are many, many GIG-GRU and GRU-GIG flights that were part of international routes with no ticket sales in between. Between 0500 and 0700, there are many widebodies making this short flight. The 737-300s flew all over Brazil and to some South American countries. The first 737-700 arrived in early 1999, but we added it to an extra 737-300 to represent it, you may assign it to a 737-300 if you wish. VARIG's subsidiaries, such as Rio Sul, who did the Ponte Aérea flights to CGH and SDU, are not included and may be found independently. Though VARIG livery 737-300s flew on behalf of Rio Sul and PLUNA at the time, there was not enough slack in the flightplans to represent this with the normal schedule. Many of VARIG's international flights stopped in GRU, and in the early morning, there are many GRU-GIG and GIG-GRU flights departing around the same time, a rather impressive sight on that short route. These flights, for the most part, did not have traffic rights and passengers only got on or off, but not both. VARIG had a good mix of new and old colors in 1998, both are well represented. VARIG would later add more types to the fleet like the 777-200 and 757-200, but the route system continued to decline. By the 2000s, VARIG was in deep trouble, and in 2006, the airline failed, after 79 years of service. Raphael Rodrigues has painted the entire fleet on the FAIB 747-300, FSPX MD-11, EVAI DC-10-30, FAIB 767-300, FAIB 767-200, FAIB 737-300, FAIB 737-200 including the special liveries. ///VASP 1998 VASP (1933-2005) IATA: VP ICAO: VSP CALLSIGN: VASP VASP was for most of it's history the second largest carrier in Brazil, and one of the largest carriers in South America, based in Sao Paulo(GRU). Sao Paulo's state government was responsible for starting the airline, with a pair of Monospar ST-4s. As VARIG initially flew seaplanes, VASP was the only airline flying land-based airplanes from GRU initially. Over the next few decades VASP grew but remained confined to the GRU region until 1962 when VASP acquired Lóide Aéreo Nacional and was granted rights to fly across Brazil. After VARIG started it's high frequency "Air Bridge" service between Sao Paulo Congonhas(CGH) and Rio De Janeiro's Santos Dumont (SDU) airports, called "Ponte Aérea", VASP followed suit and began it's own flights. Like VARIG, the flights were initially operated with Convair 240s and 340s, but VASP also used Saab 90 Scandias on the route. Over the next 2 decades, VASP modernized and added various aircraft to the fleet including the Vickers Viscount, YS-11A, Bac 1-11, Boeing 727, Boeing 737, Airbus A300, and DC-10. By the 1980s, Brazil was in an economic crisis, and as VASP was still state-owned, it's financial It was at this time that VASP began international routes in direct competition with VARIG, who had enjoyed a monopoly on international flights from Brazil since 1965. options were limited and the airline ran into trouble, leading to it's privatization in 1990. At this point, VASP expanded all across South America, to points in Europe as far away as Athens(ATH), to Japan (KIX) and as deep into North America as San Francisco (SFO). MD-11s were added for the longer flights, many of which stopped in GIG en-route, leading to many flights between these cities daily on which no tickets were sold between GIG and GRU. By 1998, VASP was scaling down, with destinations like SFO already dropped and ATH and several others about to be dropped on the next schedule update. However, VASP still had a great international network, especially in Europe, but did not fly internationally in South America except for flights to Buenos Aires(EZE). A fleet of 10 MD-11s did all the long haul flying, as well as plenty of domestic flights, with the DC-10-30s having been retired, along with the 727s. 3 A300s and a large 737-200/300 fleet served the domestic routes. There was only 1 special livery at the time which was a named MD-11, so not much variation unlike VARIG. VASP did serve SDU and CGH with mainline equipment, however, so these plans will help populate those airports. VASP's popular Ponte Aérea flights would end in late 1999, after about 40 years of high frequency service. VASP went through a minor livery change a few years later, and like VARIG, ran into severe financial trouble. The airline's regularly scheduled flights halted in January 2005, but charter flights continued for some time. Most of the fleet was stored, and by 2007, the airline had shut down entirely, with the stored aircraft being auctioned off in 2011. Raphael Rodrigues has painted the fleet on the FSPX MD-11, TFS A300B4, FAIB 737-300, and FAIB 737-200, and they are on Avsim along with the flightplans here: library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=vasp_1998_377478.zip&CatID=root&Go=SearchMD-11: A300B4: 737-200: 737-300: Download VASP 1998 Flightplans Here

Maybe i shouldn't ask for paints too much You’re not harassing anyone, clipper90. Eduardo did a Singapore package not all that long ago with applicable paints (minus the newer gen stuff like the A340 and 777.) It’ll give you stuff like the A310’s, some Aardvark 747’s and an FAIB 737-300F. There is an AIG 757 buried in a package somewhere on my Box.com account, if you’re interested. There is also an applicable 777 paint available out there for the TFS model. The FSP and FAIB paints are in the works, however. Stay tuned.

Did a post get deleted?! Yes, as with every airline we release, we will paint up the jets. But yes, most of these liveries are already released...just not on P3Dv4 models. For you FS9 users, no problem, plug and play. Just change Nagyoa RJNA to RJNN in the flightplans and delete the top "Fsx days=false" line.

//Thai International Airways 1998 v2 Thai International Airways (1960 - Present) IATA: TG ICAO: THA CALLSIGN: THAI INTER Thai International Airways is the national airline of Thailand, and is a long-established global carrier. Thai Airways has had a rich history, being the only Southeast Asian airline to have expanded across the entire globe by 1998. Thailand has some of the most liberal traffic right in the world, allowing most any airline to launch flights to 3rd party countries from DMK while selling tickets. In exchange, Thai enjoyed great reciprocal benefits with other nations and often routed aircraft through other countries enroute to the final destinations, especially in Northern Aisa. While the airline was modernizing, in 1998, it still had a very interesting fleet including the ATR-42, ATR-72, 737-400, 747-300, 747-400, 777-200, A330-300, A300-600R, A300B4, and MD-11! Thai had a virtual monopoly on the Thai domestic market, with Bangkok Airways as the only real competition as the only other scheduled carrier. The 737-400s and A310s didn't leave the country much, but the A300s reach as far out as Perth. Almost all long haul flying is out of BKK, with a few airports having regional Asian flights or the odd Australia flight. Many tag-on routes across Europe and the Middle East like KHI-MCT, FCO-ATH/MAD, AMS-ZRH, ect. Thai also had a small focus city in SIN at the time. The DC-10-30 was retired in early 1998 last flying a BKK-MUC-IST route, I have included this as a bonus(Note: IST was dropped as the DC-10 was retired, and MUC reduced to a 3x weekly MD-11 flight). The DMK airport in Bangkok was very much alive in 1998 and this package will help bring the airport to its' former international hub status. The airline was a founding member of the Star Alliance, and like the other founding members, had an aircraft in a special Star Alliance livery(an A300-600R). While Thai Airways was one of the safer carriers in Southeast Asia at the time, it did have it's share of a string of fatal accidents in the 1980s and a high loss of life in a 1992 A310 crash. The final horrific accident would occur in 1998 when one of the included A310s would be lost on approach to Surat(URT) crashing into a rice field on approach killing 101 out of the 146 people on board. Thai Airways would expand drastically when the new Bangkok Airport (VTBD) opened years later and at one point operated A340-500s nonstop from BKK-LAX on one of the longest flights on earth. Today, the airline boasts a modern feet including the Airbus A380. Some repaints needed, especially with the special King's logos worn by most of the fleet(but not the classic and soon-to-be-retired jets) in 1998, but here are some suitable available repaints: OSP ATR-72\FAIB 737-400\TFS A310-300\TFS A300B4\TFS A300-600R: library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=thai_airways_international_fleet_1994.zip&CatID=root&Go=SearchAIM DC-10-30: On Avism as "aim_dc1030_thaiairways.zip" FSPX MD-11: On Avsim as "fspxai_md-11_tha.zip" FAIB 747-200: On Avsim as "aib_747-200_tha.zip" FAIB 747-300: On Avsim as "faib_747-300_tha.zip" FAIB 747-400 by Ranmori Scythe: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Ar-o5np1AY-hSmqjhVS6Ud-WULSTkITA?usp=sharingATR-72: 737-400: A310-300: A300B4\A300-600R: 777-200: A300-300: DC-10-30: MD-11: 747-200: 747-300: 747-400: Download Thai International Airways 1998 Version 2 Flightplans Here

Due to the geography of Indonesia with the country split up into many islands, air travel was a popular means of transportation early on and the airline expanded rapidly. By the mid-1990s, Garuda Indonesia was a truly global carrier serving just about every corner of the globe except for South America. However, the 1997 Asian Economic crisis took a big toll on Garuda, as it did on many other airlines in the region, and by 1998 the airline had already made deep cuts to its network. Still, 1998 was very interesting fleet-wise for Garuda, still active were the Fokker 28(3000 and 4000), A300B4, A330-300, DC-10-30, MD-11, 747-200, 747-400, 737-300, 737-400, and 737-500. Long haul flights were mostly flown by 747-400s and the new A330-300s, though the 747-200s were used on the few remaining scheduled Middle Eastern routes. The DC-10s and A300B4s mostly did domestic and regional flights, Fokker 28s stayed domestic while the 737s actually did a few routes into Western Australia. Only 1 MD-11 route was left as the type was near retirement at the time and the majority of Garuda's own MD-11s flew Hajj trips at the time. In addition, Garuda had leased a 747-300 from both Corsair, 747-200s from Singapore, Kuwait, and Tower Air, 3 MD-11s from World, and a 767-300 from Britania to perform Hajj flights to JED as a majority of Indonesians are Muslim. All these Hajj leases wear a hybrid Garuda livery, and the 767 flies a DPS-KHH-DPS route, as well as Garuda, didn't serve Taiwan at the time with its own aircraft for political reasons. Hajj flights to JED originate from all over the country, including CGK, BDO, SUB, DPS, etc. as well as some nearby nations like the Philippines, Singapore, and Brunei. JED will be very active with Hajj flights in this project and Garuda is an important component of that traffic. As for the regularly scheduled flights, Garuda Indonesia maintained most of its Australian network and several of its European routes, however, it had been banned from flying to the United States due to its poor safety record. While Southeast Asia still had a troubled accident rate in general by 1998, Garuda Indonesia was one of the worst with 17 fatal accidents by 1998 and many more non-fatal hull losses! The latest accident in 1997 killed 234 passengers with the loss of an A300B4 in a preventable accident that was jointly caused by poor decisions from both ATC and the flight crew ultimately leading to a controlled flight into a mountain at high speed in inclement weather. The year before, a DC-10-30 was lost in FUK. Beyond the termination of flights to the USA, international confidence was shaken in the carrier, and bookings from Europe began to dwindle. As far as domestic flights go, Garuda mostly only flew between large Indonesian cities. Secondary cities only usually had a few daily flights(often just 1), or no service at all. There were several competing domestic carriers in Indonesia at the time which kept the domestic network well-connected. In addition, for a very short time in 1998, Garuda leased a 737-200 from Transmile who operated it in full "Garuda Cargo" colors on a CGK-SIN-CGK route. This, too, is included with a representative schedule. Other than the hybrids, the rest of the fleet wore the basic livery worn from the 1980s through 2000s. Getting through the next decade would bring more trouble, as 9/11 would further affect bookings and more negligent fatal accidents would occur leading to a 2007 ban on flights to the European Union for all carriers in Indonesia, including Garuda. But by 2009, the bans to the EU and the USA were lifted, and the airline again began to expand and add new aircraft like the 777-300ER and is today a member of the SkyTeam alliance. //MIAT Mongolian Airlines 1998 v2 (scheduled domestic flights added, previously all domestic flights were represented, also re-did the charters and changed aircraft order for better parking) MIAT Mongolian Airlines (1956 - Present) IATA: OM ICAO: MGL CALLSIGN: MONGOL AIR MIAT Mongolian Airlines is the national airline of Mongolia, based in Ulaanbaatar(ULN). Founded in 1956, for many years, the airline also served the role of being the Mongol aviation entity, flying all domestic scheduled and charter flights, cargo operations, providing mining transport and crop dusting as well as any other airborne utility. The carrier was established with the help of Aeroflot, who provided the airline with aircraft, personnel, technical support, and various other amenities. As such, MIAT operated mostly with Soviet types for several decades, including a huge fleet of An-2 aircraft with An-24s being used for most scheduled passenger operations in the mountainous region. In 1987, Aeroflot leased a Tu-154 to the carrier which was used for international flights to Moscow(SVO) and Beijing(PEK) until 1994 when the first Western type, a 727-200 from Korean Air, joined the fleet. From 1993, the carrier separated from the government as a private entity, but continued to provide various services through the end of the 1990s while gradually shedding all flying not related to airline transport. In 1996, the airline became a scheduled IATA carrier. 2 more 727s were added, and the type was used for a multi stop journey reaching all the way to Moscow(SVO) and Turkey(IST)! In 1998, an A310-300, named after Genghis Khan, joined the fleet and took over some routes from the 727 as well as providing non-stop flights to Germany, though the multi-stop 727 flight to Turkey still operated twice weekly. In addition to these flights, there were 2 international routes operated by An-24s listed in the OAG, but no domestic flights were operated under the IATA schedule, though some were scheduled independently, many were on a charter basis for mining transport. Maintenance for the 727s was preformed by ANA at the Osaka-Itami Airport(ITM), which rarely saw international carriers after Kansai Airport(KIX) opened in 1994. As one of the 727s sat idle most of the week, I have added a ferry flight to ITM where the 727 sits for several days as it did in real life. 29 An-2s made up most of the domestic fleet, flying both unscheduled passenger flights and serving in utility functions. An-24s and Harbin Y-12s operated most scheduled domestic flights, while An-26s operated in a combi configuration providing links to remote areas of the nation, an An-30 was used for survey flights, and some MI-8T helicopters provided flights to some regions where airfields couldn't be built. Some of the aircraft fly VFR and do touch and goes or just fly around as was realistic. Note that the majority of the airports in Mongolia did not even have paved surfaces in 1998, or to this day even in many cases, and some airports served by scheduled domestic flights no longer exist and are not in FS9\FSX\P3D and thus were excluded. In 2002, MIAT received it's first 737-800, which would become the mainstay of the future fleet, and eventually operated various types including the 767-300, A330-300, A319, 737-700, and 737-300 with a 737MAX8 added recently. The carrier today operates 7 aircraft in a passenger role, having long ago ceased all other activities. Click here to see the ramp at ULN with some of the An-2s, which you will see with a future release of a 1998 ADEX for this airport. Please assign "RAMP" parking all aircraft that are not used for scheduled flights. //Minebea Technologies 1998 Minebea Technologies (1994-2004) IATA: NONE LISTED ICAO: EBE CALLSIGN: MINEBEA Minebea Technologies, trading as Minebea-NBM (Nippon Miniature Bearing), operated a lone DC-10-30C in a combi passenger and cargo configuration as a corporate shuttle operating between Singapore(SIN) and Tokyo(NRT), Los Angeles(LAX), and Bangkok(DMK) for a 10 year period. The ex-SABENA DC-10-30C spends a lot of time on the ground at it's destinations, so you will see it fairly often. In 2004, the aircraft was sold to Avient Air Zimbabwe and later retired in Karachi(KHI) where it is stored derelict and engineless today. Jason King has painted the DC-10-30C on Avsim here: library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=aim_dc1030_minebea-nmb.zip&CatID=root&Go=SearchDC-10-30C: Download Minebea 1998 Flightplans Here
